Gallery done in Oakland
As everyone pretty much figured out after Cable's exit, that Gallery, who has been with the Silver & Black 7 seasons, would follow him out the door. Gallery was not at all hindered by voicing his disapproval and also his desire to keep Cable as HC. His fellow disgruntled teammate, Shane Lechler, has since done a good job of imitating a giraffe.
As reported by Bill Williamson in his AFC West blog in ESPN Gallery had a conversation with Mr Davis and afterwards made a statement describing his being grateful for his time in Oakland and the Raiders giving him his start, yet if he were to continue playing, it would be elsewhere.
To be a fly on the wall of those meetings....

That says a lot about someone
Not a big fan ………….. I hope he does for Seattle what he did for us…………….. miss several games with several injuries and not play up to expectations for big$$$. Yeah going to Seattle that team is on the verge of a Super Bowl title and he will get that ring he so desires there. We are better off without him in the long run working well with Veldheer or not we can do better.
Who gives a shit, who gives a fuck?

Loper filled in fine for Gallery
when he was (as usual) injured last year.
If we don’t replace Gallery through free agency we should receive a compensatory pick sandwiched between the 3rd and 4th rounds for losing him to F/A.
I’d rather have that, than have Gallery back at the $2.5 mil a year that Al was offering.
JUST DOMINATE BABY !!!
al and gallery off by about 6 million a year.good luck gallery.thx for the years

yeah
“The only thing that was mutually agreed upon is his numbers were way out of line with ours,” Herrera said. "Gallery wanted about $8 million a year and that was way too much money. We’re being real honest about it. We were in the $2.5 million range.

It is my opinion that
Al was being much more (overly generous even) than fair in offering Gallery $2.5mil a year.
$8 mil a year?… he didn’t want to come back. He new the Raiders would pay that and if they did … who could resit that kind of money to be injured half of every season.
Gallery will go to Seattle and sign for $2 mil a year to be with his love …Cable.
JUST DOMINATE BABY !!!
We haven't had Gallery for a while anyway...
He’s only good for about half the season. He is good while he is in there but Daniel Loper filled in just fine while Gallery was out.

ya
I agree with loper doing well and hope they draft some good fill in guys that will do alot better and be alot cheaper
I think Loper is the same guy as Gallery
Considering he was second overall, good riddance.

Thanks Robert
you were a trooper, unfortunately ou never lived up to your contract.
Still will always be a Raider, and best of luck.
P&T - Screw D-Will we got She-Will
Miami Heat, that's nothin' Carmelo with the shot and Stat Dunkin'
I didn’t ask, I just told Billy Walker to switch off. I told him I’ll get [James] the last seven, seven and a half minutes or so. I just wanted to take that challenge, and it helped us out - Carmelo Anthony
I'm not going this route on Gallery
$8 mil year is a insult and I’m taking it as one. This prick never wanted to stay, he just made a “make me stay” demand. I say Fuck him.. he can go blow Cable now in Seattle for $2mil a year.
Your right about one thing though… he never lived up to his contract, and the first chance he has to right that wrong he asks for even more money? Fuck off Robert, you do this and it proves to me that you were never a Raider at all.
JUST DOMINATE BABY !!!
We know for sure that Gallery wanted 8 mill
only becuase John Herrera said so. I’ll believe that crap when Gallery or his agent confirm that.
And, he played his ass off and did much for the community. He doesn’t deserve this venom. Al playing you guys like puppets.
Don't shoot, I'm a man.
He deserves props for his community work
but other than that, he’s a first round bust and an oft injured LG and he never really wanted to stay in Oakland or he’d still be here. you think Herrera is lying? I don’t see any reason for that. if the Raiders just wanted to let him go, then they would. This is not some sort of publicity stunt to win over Raider fans, they don’t care what we think, they’ve proven that over and over again.
JUST DOMINATE BABY !!!
Then why did they say anything when they didn't have to?
Gallery said nothing but nice things when he left.
Don't shoot, I'm a man.
and he did buy some nice cars with the money he stole from Al
S&BP - I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.
P&T - That's what She-Will Said.
Aw c'mon!
If I remember correctly, he did restructure his contract. He also suffered from many different coaches and position changes. They should have put him at LT and left him there for a while. I hope that (barring some incredible trade or FA signing) they leave Veldheer there.
Don't shoot, I'm a man.
they drafted him as an LT and he stunk
it was only when Cable rocked up he got moved to guard and salvaged his career, he was also oft injured.
S&BP - I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.
P&T - That's what She-Will Said.
They drafted him at LT
And insisted on putting him at RT to start as a rookie while leaving turnstyle Barry at LT. Add to that the all coaching changes he had including 2 guys during the Bed and Breakfast era who were telling him 2 different things. As we so ofetn do, we do not coach up players. Some of that has to fall back on the Raiders. He showed up and worked his ass off. Japurple stole, Gallery was overpaid.
Don't shoot, I'm a man.
fair enough

loper will be good or better.
hopefully loper will be injury free. then there is campbell, big al likes campbell on the o line . power blocking here we go. i dont think gallery is a power blocker, loper and campbell are!

There is definitely some irrational Loper love right here
Bruce Campbell will get the spot imo

I'm just hoping the line changes don't spell total disaster.
We’re talking a lot of youth up front.

And with This Last Comment by Rusty !!!!
You just got to believe Al & Hue are targeting an EXP. Lineman to come in and lead this group. Whether Gallery Lived up to the being the 2nd pick or not, He was the Alpha male on the O-line, and as of RIGHT NOW, we don’t have that !!! And a rookie won’t feel this role(We’ll be lucky if one does)!!!
Wells Twombly's bio of Blanda used "Alpha male" liberally ... did you read it? It's mostly unreadable

p.s I don't believe Gallery was an Alpha Male. Even now he runs to Cable like a Beta or Gamma Male
