I am too lazy to look up his contract numbers from years past but I am pretty sure Gallery has already been lavished with double digit millions for being a first round draft pick. At this point in his career, he must realize he is not worth 8 million a year. A can of tomatoes has more intelligence that he does so there is no way that he would have the wherewithal to bluff Al Davis in contract negotiations. Unless he just let his agent run the show but it would be hard to believe even a lard brain as Gallery would tell his agent to play hardball with Al.
It is more likely Gallery has fully transformed from a naïve farm boy from Iowa into a classic egotistical professional athlete who is all about greed. He could not possibly need the money. He has enough for a lifetime. His spine is fused. He has had countless other surgeries. How much more could his body have left?
Maybe he thinks Paul Allen will open the checkbook, expecting a warm welcome from Pete Carroll and Tom Cable in Seattle.
I would find it very hard to believe Gallery will get more than 2 million a year from any other club.
The problem for Gallery is guards are not as valuable as tackles. So if he fulfilled the potential that was expected of him to begin with maybe we his contract demands would make more sense.
I’m glad I no longer have to look at his grotesque form when watching games. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Mr. Greedy First Round Bust I Bet Your Breath Stinks Too You Ugly Sack of Shit Robert Gallery.
