I don't have hate in my heart for Cotton, but he did only start 26 games in six seasons in Oakland and he was landed from KC way way of the first round selection and 1990 Member of the Hall of Fame Buck Buchanan.
There is no reason to hate on Cotton, really, he was just a bust. Kinda like trading Ray Lewis for Josh McCown.
Nobody will ever mistake the 1963 Oakland Raiders for their counterparts in 1976 and 1981, but Cotton did only manage to win one game, while losing 11.
Although he managed to pick it up over the next 5 years, appearing in 16 games.
Buck Buchanan, the number one overall pick that was traded away by Al Davis, went on to 8 Pro Bowl Seasons with the Chiefs joining them in their inaugural 1963 season. I know that many Oakland Raider linemen wished that they didn't have to face him twice a year!
Number 5 on my list!
