Many of you think that Robert Gallery should be on this list, but, at the very least he did evolve into one of the best Right Guards in the NFL, when healthy. John Clay, on the other hand wears the Captain Bust sign for OT's taken by the Oakland Raiders in the First Round.
With the 15th pick In the 1987 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Clay out of the University of Missouri. And that was it for his career. Literally. He lasted two seasons in the League and only one in Oakland before being bounced from the NFL.
His claim to fame was being traded away after his first season in Oakland, along with two draft picks, for Jim Lachey, who was then traded to Washington for Jay Schroeder and two draft picks.
The best thing that he did was fail his physical in San Diego, play only two games and cost them All-Pro OT, Jim Lachey who went on to be a dominant OT for the Redskins.
