Now that I am a big time Captain on this blog I have decided that I shall go by my real name. It makes it easier for all of the big money royalty checks to start flowing my way, and it sets me apart from all of the little people in this world. Let's face it, life is about status and appearances, and life is something I am winning (tm Chuck Sheen) now.
Wait, did I just type that last paragraph out loud? That was supposed be for my eyes only! Here is what I meant to share:
It's weird, but my real name (and abbreviated version even) feels too formal. If I was operating in a vacuum I would have left my name the same. I mean, that's why I chose it in the first place. But it was stressed to me that using my real name would lend me more credibility and consequently give more access to "press" type of things, which means I can then share those kinds of things with you. So, hopefully this change will allow me to give us all a little better coverage on this fine site.
I guess this is all a push to blur the lines between journalists and bloggers. For what it's worth, I am not interested in being either. I am just a fan that likes to write. I have no interest in adhering to any kind of journalism code of ethics. I tend to operate under my own ethics of human behavior. Beyond that I'll just let my writing define itself, and leave my credibility to be determined by each person that reads it.
There you have it. Please feel free to continue to call me noontide or noon or tide or whatever else you feel like calling me. It is all good in this hood (just use my new name for all above mentioned royalty and endorsement checks).
