Positive NFL lockout news is coming out so fast and furious now it is hard to keep up with it. I just posted that a new CBA may be within two weeks of becoming a reality. Well, that report may have been pessimistic.CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman has heard from sources that the deal is close. Freeman:
One source with intimate knowledge of the discussions tells me negotiations are 80-85 percent complete. They've made such fast progress, I'm told, it's catching many of the principals by surprise. Some are now canceling vacations, believing an agreement will be reached within a matter of days.
"It's going to be very difficult for this to get screwed up," the source said.
This is great news. However, it seemed very difficult for things to get screwed up to the point that they are screwed now. Let's hope, however, that this positive trend of common sense can continue until a deal is reached.
