Oakland Raiders 2011 Rookie News: Ausberry Signs, Barksdale Not Far Behind?
The Oakland Raiders have always done an excellent job of signing their rookies—not counting the doped up exception—and with new rules in place making the 2011 rookie class way easier to ink to contracts you have to believe they will get this task completed in no time.
*Update: via wbir.com:
Today former Tennessee wideout Denarius Moore inked a deal with the
Raiders valued at $2.2 million over four years. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft in April.
*Update: via Raiders Twitter:
Head Coach Hue Jackson announces that 4th round draft pick RB Taiwan Jones has signed and is in Napa
*Update: Demarcus Van Dyke's Twitter:
Officially a Raider!!!
There is already at least one rookie signed sealed and delivered. Seventh-round wide receiver pick David Ausberry is ready to start his career. This comes to us via the Twitter account of the National Football Post's Aaron Wilson:
Raiders seventh-round rookie WR David Ausberry got a $45,900 signing bonus.
His deal is likely soon to be followed by the signing of rookie offensive lineman Joe Barksdale. This new is delivered to us by Steve Corkran:
Rookie offensive tackle Joseph Barksdale said he has touched down in San Francisco. That portens his signing a contract in Alameda today or real soon and making his way here. No sight or word from second-round draft pick Stefen Wisniewski.
I fully expect Wisniewski and the rest of the rookies to be signing shortly as well.

c'mon now... no holding out going on there...
besides, fines are twice as steep than last year. like thirty thousand. only the richest guys will hold out. No Penn St. guys we signed will even balk, much less a Wiz.

49ers | Nate Clements to be released
Wed, 27 Jul 2011 14:42:07 -0700
The San Francisco 49ers have informed CB Nate Clements that he will be released.
looks like
they will try to sign nnamdi with that news.
Tiawon Jones has been signed
could not find the terms of the deal.
B.A. Is posting on twitter
That we are talking to Young, Bulger and T.Edwards
I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.
Long live Al
I think it's about time we all just agreed that NaS is the greatest of all-time.
That's the word from Mr Armstrong
I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.

He is also saying that Jets are offering Nam 12m per year
2m less than Revis P.A.

Maybe Nam Stays With Us...I Think That's An Insult To Him...
If “SF” doesn’t offer any more which I don’t see them doing maybe we can spend that $$$$ if this season’s $$$$ in in bonuses spread out over the life of the contract…
Hmmm...
Don’t want Young (immature, head case, how will he react to being a backup?) but wouldn’t mind Bulger or Edwards.

I wouldn't mind Vince at the right price
The guy wins and as a decently priced back up he could be a good signing.
I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.

i think he will create a worst QB controversy than bruce and grad.... no thank you. lol
I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP
But I also see you're point
I know absolutely nothing about this guy but if he is fast I say sign him up.

Trent Edwards

Trent is alright. he is backup worthy.

That's what I thought.
He can hold a clipboard fine. Although I’d rather have Boller on the field.

*shivers*
I think Trent>Boller because he does have starting experience..

They both do.
Boller has a better arm. That’s about all between them.

hm... that is true.
I did feel that Trent was good on the bills though. before fitz took his job (que south park thing. lol).

in buffalo though , i like edwards but jackson is comfortabe with bolier as the back up so save our draft picks if campbell chokes we could go after luck
i still think we should keep charlie frye at 3rd QB
he’s kinda made outa glass but as far a film buddy no ones better suited

Retaction From "49ers"....
49ers | Nate Clements not released
Contrary to previous reports, the San Francisco 49ers and CB Nate Clements’ agent, Todd France, are saying the reports of the 49ers cutting Clements are not true.
Anyone still rate Clements at all?
Seems to have fallen off a cliff since signing the big deal with the Whiners

Nate Clements is being released because he CAN'T cover!!!! Pass on that kid...
At QB, I stated I liked Vince Young and right away my beloved Raider faithfuls grabbed their Machetes and chased me out of the blog..lol I think Vince with his youth and athleticism would be a great addition under the right terms. We all know about his episodes, however, it got him kicked off a team and this commissioner is no non-sense. I can see Vince catching on somewhere and doing well, why not here. Also, I lobbied for Mike Vick, again the Machetes came out, look at him now.. I expect the Raiders to be a much better team this year, David Ausberry is from Fresno, CA, that kid has been a ball player his entire life, he is a football player, I expect him to make the team and do well. Taiwan Jones Special Teams beast and great change of pace at RB..I am excited about the upcoming season, I will be sure to catch 6 to 8 games live around the country and at home. Go Raiders!!!!

I'd bring in VY...as our back-up QB's are less than ideal, and Campbell hasn't reached an untouchable level
He would certainly be our best back-up qb, and could push Campbell, who only has a year left on his deal. I think a concern with Young would be that we would be overly dependant on a dominant running game, and of course his ability to lead with a questionable attitude. The best defense against that is that this guy has won throughout his career.

Can anyone see the info on ESPN? i refuse to pay those a$$holes to read an article that isn’t even real news…

seeing many rumors, nothing substantial
Some are saying the two sides have agreed
I just hope we aren't offering stupid money
I like Cro he is a playmaker, he and Routt would be a pretty damn solid corner combo IMO

can't jam guys smaller than him, not at all the physical nature of a Raider's corner
and you saw it in divisional games the Jets played, bigtime

I just got mine from DVD's twitter account
I cannot see anything about Cromartie because I’m not an insider
seeing many rumors, nothing substantial
me either…. ESPN is so stupid with that insider crap… I barely ever even look at them anymore
Yeah I don't see any of those being true
but I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a Raider uni if Nnam leaves.
Hot Damn This craziness is awesome

fo' shizzle
Greatest training camp/preseason ever. Not that it excuses owners/players for toying with us, but this result is pretty sweet.

I love it, man.
It’s so much fun. Not good for my studies or work (when I’m on here I’m either in class or at work), but fuck that.
