We got some HOF love on NFL.com
I just saw by NFL.com writer Adam Rank and thought it was not only 100% correct but had some very cool star wars/raider references.
Who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame?
Considering that the only thing left for my complete conversion to the dark side is getting into a light saber fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, I have to say that it is a complete outrage that Jim Plunkett is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Answer this bit of trivia, who is the only quarterback to start and win two Super Bowl games and not be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame -- excluding non-eligible candidates?
That's right, it's Plunkett.
And not only should Plunkett be in the Hall, Ken Stabler deserves an induction, too, as his numbers are very comparable to Joe Namath's. I don't want to say that there is a Raiders' biased, mainly because I haven't full taken the role of a Raider Sith, but something weird is going on.
What a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As its is Hall of fame day i thought this would be a good way to start a debate about the outrageous HOF discrimination against the Raiders. BRANCH, TATUM, GUY, PLUNKETT, STABLER, FLORES, BROWN, ATKINSON, HAYES, DALBY, VILLAPIANO................
Rank is pretty cool to follow on twitter as well @adamrank and is also on the Dave Damashek Football podcast on NFL.com show him some love for the Raider support we don't get much in the mainstream.
Good to see that at least ONE person between ESPN/NFL.com is not a completely blinded by stupidity and bias

Choosing between the two
I’d vote for Stabler over Plunkett. Both deserve it though.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.
thats the thing
shouldnt have to choose numbers speak for themselves

Most definitely it's a disgrace
Tim Brown should have been in this year but it seems basically impossible for a wideout to get in these days…..CLIFF BRANCHCLIFF BRANCH.

agree
The hall is a bit of a joke. Brown should have been a first ballot along with Carter from the Vikes and they were talking on NFL network about whether or not Moss is a first ballot ? COME ON MAN, 2 class acts versus a dickhead. The absolute worst though is the SANDERS hype. BO was 10 times the player in both sports till his injury. (Please note this is not a call for Bo to make the halI. His career was too short) Also saw a quote from Zimmerman ,who votes for inductees which said as long as he was alive , (Zimmerman) he would do all he could to ensure Stabler would not get in. There are quite a few Raiders who belong in the Hall.

agreed. Bo was probably the best athlete to ever live.
Tim Brown and Cris Carter were both better players than Michael Irvin was and they should both have gotten in no questions asked.
Randy Moss is also a first ballot hall of famer in my opinion. He sucked with us but come on that guy was unbelievable when he wanted to be.
Kenwo4life=ratings. Just call me Mr. USA Today.
Moss
Ken I think you hit the key when you said “When he wanted to be”…is it fair to keep a party guy like Stabler out who never dissed the fans and gave his all and first ballot a guy who mooned his hometown fans in Minnesota for questioning his commitment?..while I agree he had talent -he took alot of plays off. I do think he should get in someday. I don’t think Moss, Irvin or TO should be 1st ballot IMO, its a class issue, BROWN and Carter should go in before those guys About Irvin, I want to know how you can blackball Stabler for his partying and ballot Irvin in for snorting coke of hookers bellies in a downtown Dallas hotel?..other than the Raider bias the league has…..Pete Rozelle lives, I think he helps Jim Morrison and Elvis run a Bait shop in Kalamazoo Michigan.

I honestly think that the biggest snub might be Tom Flores
2 time winning superbowl coach WTF???!!?

I heard a funny story on NFL network about
The year Al inducted Madden was the first year they really tried to get the time down of the inductors speeches and everyone was on point but Al was like FUCK THAT and took as long as he wanted.
That’s our Al :)

This guy is right.
Stabler has much better numbers than Namath..and more division titles. Namath made one fucking call…and that was it. He’s a douche now anyway.
Dave Dalby…anchored the Raiders at center for 3 Superbowls and what, 14 years? And a dick like Dan Dierdorf is in the HOF? You had to have been a media darling and kiss peoples’ asses to do that…like that douche Lynn Swann…336 receptions! WTF?
People like Dr Z at SI have said aloud he will never vote for Stabler.
Even tho he was a Raider, Howie Long should have been inducted way behind some of the guys from the 60’s & 70’s who are still out there….Branch, Guy, Hayes, Villapiano, Plunkett, Stabler….
And while some of the Queef fans are swirling around here, how does fucking Dawson rank above Plunkett?
Good thing I have Stoli onhand when I read this …….
Good post, Oz…

It does my heart good
To see Raider love from a mediot. The power of the dark side is strong.

Plunkett shouldn't get in imo. He won 2 SB's with 2 overall great teams but didn't enter either of those seasons as the starter
Stabler not getting in is outrageous though. Same with Brown, Branch, Hayes, Guy and even Dalby/Wisnewski
