There are lots of questions to be answered before we know whether Hue will be the head coach we all hope he will be , but defense will not be one of them . The defense will be run the way Al Davis wants it to be run . Oakland has struggled with this for years . Quarterbacks around the league don't even have to read our defense , they know exactly what they will be looking at before they line up.

  The successful defenses around the league utilize different looks , formations, etc .  You dont know where the blitz is coming from , we don't do that . Any defensive coordinator that has tried to change things up has been shown the door . That's why Chuck Breshnehan was brought in , he will run the defense exactly the way Al tells him to . If the defense struggles Al will throw money at it rather than expand the defensive play calling . 

  The only way the current philosophy succeeds is with stellar safety play . It takes an Ed Reed type to be able to run this defense the way it's being run ,  just because  we pay Huff like Reed that don't make it so . We have solid safeties , and a very good defensive roster , but until Al allows the defense to mix it up a bit , our defense will struggle against the better quarterbacks around the league .
