The Raiders defensive line dominated, but the Raiders were sloppy in coverage. None of the passes were completed on DVD though. Boyd got easily toasted and Huff got beat by Tate deep. Huff could have made knocked the ball down if he had better ball skills. That drive—Seahawks second—led to a field goal.
More first quarter notes:
- The redzone D saved the day again. On the first drive Routt had great D in the endzon on a 15-yard in. He knocked the ball up and it found the opportunistic Tyvon Branch. Branch is the undisputed master of tip ball.
Michael Bush is a beast. He is a load to bring down. Although the Raiders offensive line was not consistently opening up holes.
- The Raiders first team offense tried to asset the run, and the O-line let them down. It led to a missed 52-yard field goal by Janokowski, and a punt near midfield.
- Jacoby Ford got a few snaps and had a catch. He'll be more than ready for Week 1.
