Well I can't come right out and predict a win against the Jets. I wont rule out a win and even feel confident in getting one, but I can't predict the winner of this game in general. It is going to be interesting to say the least. The O.Co being sold old is pretty amazing either way. I can't wait to hear this crowd at its loudest. The games that I have gotten to watch have already been very loud, so I can't wait to hear almost 10,000 more passionate fans screaming for this one.
I think that this game needs to be low scoring for us to win it. I have not been confident in winning shoot out games for quite some time. Although I am the most confident in our ability to win a shoot out game than I have been in almost a decade I do not want to test it. If we had won last week I would be all about it, but I am a little tainted from Buffalo. Our defense just seems too sporadic. If we play well as a whole than it seems we can consistently play good defense. However, as soon as something bad happens it really seems to effect the defense as a whole. I think of it as the waterfall effect. Calm river flowing smoothly and than all of a sudden its falling off a cliff. Keep the scoring from the Jets minimal and I think our defense will play well. Get in a shoot out and I fear the worse.
We need to pound the rock. This team can win with an underrated passing offense but we will win with our bruising rushing attack. The Jets pass defense is one of the best in the league, and although I feel our passing offense can compete against anybody, the best way to play against a pass defense is to run it right at them. I actually want to see a whole lot of Michael Bush in this game. I want us to dominated the time of possession and to run Michael right down their throat. They will be gameplanning against DMC and I think if we put more of the load on Bush it will surprise them a bit. They are anticipating our using speed against them, so lets flip the script and use strength against them instead. I want to maul them. I want them to be hurting still next week after playing us, which has certainly become the norm when it comes to the Raiders. I want to give them a black eye Sunday, and I want Michael Bush being the one throwing the punches.
Were not going to be able to stop both Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress but I really want to stop Dustin Keller. Everybody knows we have been suspect in defending elite tight ends and I believe Keller is elite. Take him out of the passing offense and hope our corners make some plays this week instead of drop big interceptions. We need to cause turnovers to keep this score low. The Jets are normally a run first team but I think they are going to come into this game throwing the ball. I know if I was going to play the Raiders defense I would plan on passing all day. Lets get Sanchez on the ground. The DL was the most dissapointing part for me in the Buffalo game and I am sure they feel that dissapoint to the tenth degree. They are going to come out hungry after a lackluster performance last week. They should also smell blood in the water with the Jets Nick Mangold likely out this week. They still have D'brickshaw Ferguson but they are going to be forced to play an udfa center. Take advantage and put yourselves back on that pedestal Dline, we need you Sunday.
Lets get a big victory this Sunday for a sold out crowd and for the many homes in Oakland that have the game blacked out on the norm. There are a lot more Raider fans that will get to watch this game, lets make them proud!!
