Jets vs. Raiders Injury Report: Both Teams Will be Close to Full Strength
There aren't any surprises on the injury for the Jets and Raiders. The Raiders have ruled out Jacoby Ford, Luis Murphy and Mike Mitchell. The Jets said C Nick Mangold, WR Logan Payne and G Robert Turner are out.
The closest thing to a surprise is that DE Muhammad Wilkerson is questionable. Earlier in the week Wilkerson was part of a large group of players that were limited in practice that Rex Ryan said he expected would play. This means he will likely play, but his shoulder is obviously bugging him enough that it could effect his performance.
Demarcus Van Dyke is the only player on the Raiders listed as questionable. This likely means he won't see the field on Sunday. DVD has had his struggles when 100 percent healthy. I don't see the Raiders throwing him out there if he is not. Joe Porter will likely slide above DVD on the depth chart for Sunday's game.
All other Jets and Raiders on the injury list are probable. Check out NFL.com's full list after the jump

Murphy may want to get his butt on the field
as I see he falling down the depth chart with the emergence of Moore & Hagen. I think Ford will be safe, because he’s a playmaker who needs to get the ball. Murphy though will need to reestablish his spot in the lineup, especially if DHB can somehow put together another decent game or 2.

Was thinking the same thing
I like Murph, but he had injury problems last year, and is getting off to a rough start this year. Meanwhile, we got a new rookie who plays like a pro.
The only injury i remember for Murphy was the bruised lung
after a collision with Reece. If that was his only injury, i would say that he has an injury problem.

id say he has a problem of
“not being better than the players he’s competing with for playing time”
murph is a gritty, tough guy, he is overvalued for his success as the best of an awful group in the past. better players have been and will be passing him by. I like the guy but if he is one of your top 2 wrs, your team ain’t very good

It just feels like
it’s been forever since I’ve seen the guy make in impact in a game, and that injuries are a big reason for that.

Fortunately for Murphy
we have those two guys. Otherwise, he probably would have to return too soon.
AFC West Assassins... Finally, no more Chargers
So glad Boss if ready to go and I hope DVD is too ... Porter would be disastrous a' la walterMcFadden
We need a lot of Bush and DMC this Sunday. Also, field goals won’t be an option.

Preach it brother
I been saying that all week … we need another veteran corner desperately.
Still don’t understand why we don’t grab Sheppard back. Even at his (apparently) diminished capacity he’d still be the 3rd or even 2nd best if Stan or CJ was ever hurt or even not at full strength due to injury. And he’d have to be dirt cheap. And Miller’s roster spot is wasted anyway …
We’ve known since the moment Nnamdi left that we’re very thin at the position, and the answer was … Joe Porter? Please …
I hope we try someone else beside Miller at PR this week, and I’d have to think that if someone else steps up at that job this week, we’d finally say buh-bye to little Nicky and grab us another vet corner.

Doesnt Matter
This is all irrelevent until Al Davis makes amends with the NFL. They will continue to scrutinize every play for a penalty, especially when it counts. Ive never seen so many flags this year taken back because of a mistake. Thats proof theyre trigger happy for a REASON. For 26 raider years i was never a conspiracy guy, but im tired of kidding myself. Cbs cut last weeks raider game in LA on Buffalo’s last drive with 24 seconds left in the game. NFL announced that this had to happen because SD OWNS THE LA MARKET. Thats a direct spit in AL’s face. What would you expect the NFL would do to an owner who has slapped a handful of lawsuits on them and won?
Ill guarantee you a game changing penalty on third down late in the fourth that will allow the Jets a game winning score. Same ole tuck story.
Dare I say it.
CBS has always been clueless about sports - no sense of drama, discriminating judgment or understanding of significance
just crass bureaucratic commercialism.

To me, these sequence of events leading to Boss injured looked like the same hit laid on Berry.
They both flew up and fell. Berry is weak/injury prone and we should go for his thighs. Tip.
:)

gotta agree with ya there sob...
Havin Boss in finally gives us more options for short passing yards….and yeah, DVD is a much safer bet to at least keep Plax in check than porter. Our secondary is the only area that makes me cringe…Bills toasted us with dink and dunk bullshit last week, and thats about all Sanchez is good for.
