Who'll Have a Better Game; Gerard Warren or Richard Seymour?
As the date nears, the plot thickens.
Word has begun to spread that Gerard Warren, the one-time Raider, is once again returning to New England who cut him earlier this month to make room for another tightend since released. Warren and the Patriots will travel to Oakland and be hosted by Richard Seymour, the one-time Patriot.
They will not face each other. Not directly. Their teams' defenses will face one another's offenses, and they will be right in the middle of both sides of what promises to be a hell of a showdown.
After the great Snowbowl of 2002 I always look forward to a Raiders/Patriots matchup. And I'll always have respect for Richard Seymour. Too bad he'll be facing one heck of an o-line..
I predict Warren will have the better game.

I got to take Warren.
Biased, even though he won’t get nearly as much playing time as Richard Seymour. He’ll be in a rotation.
How’s the Raider o-line been overall this season?
It is what it is
Campbell's been sacked twice in three games
and they’re paving the way for the best rushing attack in football…
Gerard Warren is only a good DT when he can rush the passer. He’s a liability against the run. Big Dick is the most complete DT in football (still better than Suh, though Suh is closing the gap, fast.)
Seymour will plant Brady at least once in this game, and Warren will be 10 yards from the LoS on every running play.

About the same for Brady. Whoever Seymour is matched up to,
whether it’s Mankins or Waters, it’s going to be a heck of a battle.
Who’re the standouts on the Raider o-line? Any pro-bowlers?
It is what it is
The o-line
currently has no probowlers. Overall, its a young oline with a lot of potential. LT is manned by 2nd year player Jarred Valdeer, he was promising last year, and is holding up well this year too. LG is rookle Stefen Wiznoskie out of Penn State. He is playing well as veteran C Sampson Satele. The left side has been money for us when running the ball. RG is currently occupied by Cooper Carlisle. He is weak link on the line. And finally RT is currently being held down by Khalif Barnes. He has been playing well overall this season. With young depth on the right side in, Bruce Campbell and Joesph Barksdale, we have a strong line for now and the future. O-line isnt the same liability it once used to be for us.

If they single Big Rich look out!
Didn’t we cut Warren… This is gonna be a battle! But Seymour goes away on top!
If they single-block him it'll be with either
Logan Mankins at LG or Brian Waters(former LG of KC). at RG. Both are excellent.
It is what it is
Seymour ate Waters' lunch
last year when he was with KC, and he’s older than dirt. Kelly had a really good game against him in the second game, and we got to Cassel at will.
Without Koppen in the middle of them, it could be a rough day for your interior OL. I’ve only seen Kemouatu neutralize Seymour effectively, and he had Pouncey to help him out.
Either way, Warren is a bum, and doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with Seymour. Your OL has proven they can be had, and the last DL coach that dominated your OL now calls Oakland home…

All right, troll
Seriously, why even bring that up? First you ask who’s better: a washed up DT who wasn’t even on an NFL roster until today to a potential Pro Bowl DT. Now you bring this up.
Please, get this dude out of here.
If you mean gifted are are a true chowd!
That was a fraud… If you take joy in that it says all we need to know!
Dude, not worth it
Believe me, I agree with you 100%. Trolls like him want you to react like that. Instead, just flag his comment and help get him banned so he can go pleasure himself to some Tom Brady GQ photo shoot pictures.
I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings.
It is what it is
Hurt our feelings? You have to impress us with football knowledge.
We enjoy talking football with fans from other sites that know what they are talking about. You are getting pissed on for one of 2 reasons, maybe both. When you place Warren on a level with Seymore that tells us you don’t know what you are talking about or are purposely trolling us. How can you not know about Seymore since he used to be a Pat? You might have Raider Nation confused because of how you presented yourself and are suspect in our eyes. Unless you get your act together Raider Nation is unlikely to be kind to you.

.....as I explained above,
my reason for taking Warren is “bias” given he’s in a Patriot uniform.
BTW, I thought Raider Nation was suppose to be something other than kind? Ya know, “we the mean bully” and all that.
It is what it is
Are you for real?
You just dont know shit about Raiders football.

Pats/Raiders last played in '08,
neither Campbell nor Brady played in that game and Richard Seymour was the undisputed leader of the defensive line of the New England Patriots. So no, I don’t know much about Raider football because I hardly see it.
It is what it is
Thanks for the confirmation.

Let me quote something my dad once said to me.
If you don’t know shit, shut your mouth.
"In football, I root for the Oakland Raiders because they hire castoffs, outlaws, malcontents, and f*** -ups, they have lots of penalties, fights, and paybacks, and because Al Davis told the rest of the pig NFL owners to go get f***ed. Someday, the Raiders will be strong again, and they will dip the ball in s*** and shove it down the throats of the wholesome, white, heartland teams that pray together and don't deliver late hits." - George Carlin.
It's the Tuck Rule Game.
Only brain dead Massholes insist on calling it the Snow Bowl.

Just leave the knee alone.
Don’t care about the face. I’m sure he could buy another.
It is what it is
Hmmm... if the title would've been Haynesworth or Seymour... then I would be a little scared.
Warren? So you just pick him off the street and viola! he’s a starter and will get a load of snaps? (even if he does he does not scare anyone, he had his moments but it’s been too long now, he’s old.)
The RaiderLaker
Nah, Warren was with us earlier this month..
..and he played wel in preseasonl. However, we had too many DLinemen on the roster.. if we had cut Marlon Pryor or Kyle Love(other rotational DLs) they would have likely been claimed from waivers, so the vet had to bite the bullet. Pryor has since been moved to IR.
Fun fact; they never cleaned out Gerard Warren’s locker. Same with Dan Gronkowski.
No word on Haynesworth but I’d expect him to be more likely to play than not. Don’t yet believe it’s a serious injury. BB likes to keep everyone including the fans in the dark.
It is what it is
Warren's an okay pass rusher from the inside
but is terrible against the run. He likes to shoot the wrong gap and try to get up field and loses position…talented but not disciplined.

He is better, and unlike Warren he'll play more snaps.
Seymour was beloved as a Patriot and I’m eager to see how he hosts the team that cut him; Warren too.
As I mentioned above, I got to take Warren because he’s currently a Pat even if he’s only a rotational-lineman.
It is what it is
So...
You’re letting your bias get in the way of making an intelligent decision. Dude, even we don’t do that… most of the time.

Don't feed the trolls.
I hope Warren plays 30 plays so we can run it right over him 30 times.
I really really hope you are right that Warren is playing. Like we needed an easier time running the ball.

Eh, with the way Shaun Ellis was playing,
Raiders would probably be better off with Ellis instead of Warren. Shaun Ellis is the only defensive lineman that I have ever seen get shoved back 5 yards during a pass-rush by a running back.
It is what it is
Well...
You’ll see it again this week when DMC or Bush are in against Warren.

It was Seymour who told G Warren
to sign w. the Patriots in 2010.

Warren?
Warren who, i’d be more worried to block haynesworth or ellis, other than that Richard Seymour is a no brainer.
RAIDERS NATION
"There only can be one nation, The Raider Nation"
You see...
Richard Seymour is going to take your best blocker Mankins I believe. As for that he is going to have a big blocker as he usually takes two to block if you leave him with one you are in trouble. So while he might not have a sack or anything he will set up Kelly and company to well make Brady hurt.
As for Warren, meh.
Everyone should know that Big Rich wants to flaten Brady
All the times he wasn’t aloud to touch him in practice… This ain’t practice!
Are they still allowed to touch QBs?
Both QB hits against Fitzpatrick last week were called “roughing the passer” so I really don’t know anymore
BTW, props for breaking Sanchez’s nose..
It is what it is
I think Seymour will be plenty fired up this game. Mankins is one of my favorite guards in the league ( And I HATE the Pats after the snowjob.) But I can’t see him stopping big rich solo on one of the biggest games in regular season. Also the way we now rotate our D line, everyone stays fresh and that will cause major issues for the Pats o line. The best thing about our D line is everyone plays well, now that Jarvis Moss is emerging, if last week was any indicator his play is completely turned around and he looked dominate. That should lessen the blow for us if Shaugnessy isn’t a go.
By the way, Hey everyone! I’ve read the site for about a year and a half, finally thought I should start contributing.

Yeah I am actually. I am in the Mattress business around this way. Lived here for quite a long time. If you want a good Raiders bar to see the games at, try the pizza chef in norfolk. They have a whole section of that place dedicated to Raiders fans. Middlesex, thats a fitting favorite game for a Pats fan! It really embodies the bias and pretty boy bullshit that has surrounded Brady his entire time in the NFL. Cheers!

Is Boneshakers a good spot for Raiders ball? Close to my house and I’ve never been in there. Don’t own a motorcycle so I never thought to stop in haha.
They turned it into a sports bar...for bikers...lol
Seriously…they have remodeled and have music there now too.
They have a few tv’s, but because this is Foreskin’s country, you never know what will be on.
We should plan on a game..like an AFC West division game to meet and toss down a few.

I finally figured out why the hell this question was even brought up ...
Or, at least I think I did.
In 2001 Warren was chosen #3 overall by Cleveland, and 3 picks later the Pat’s chose Richard Seymour.
Is that why you brought up this particular comparison, Middlesex?
Gerard Warren is NOT gonna have a bigger day than Seymour, unless Seymour gets injured. Can NOT see that happening lol.
Or is it because they're both playing against former teams?
Big difference here is that Warren has to know he got cut loose by the Raiders because he really wasn’t cutting it, and he’s gotta know that. I doubt he has the sort of animosity towards the Raiders that provides ‘extra motivation’, but I dunno for sure.
Seymour OTOH, as we all know, was totally blind-sided and traded by the team that drafted him and that he led to 3 super bowl wins, to a team that (at that time) was total crap. He tried to flat out refuse to come to the Raiders at first, y’all remember that?
I’d guess that, even if he won’t admit it, Seymour has a rather big chip on his shoulder over that, this being his 1st time playing his former team since becoming a Raider.
I’m guessing he is going to be stepping out there with something to prove to the Pat’s coaches, management, and fans watching the game. I’m expecting some FURIOUS ANGER!
