New England Patriots vs. Oakland Raiders Injury Report: Huff and Shaughnessy Still May Play
The Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots injury report continues to be a lengthy one. Most of these injuries have resulted in players labeled with the questionable status.
Among the questionable for the Raiders are Michael Huff and Matt Shaughnessy. Neither were able to practice on Sunday, which makes me skeptical that they will be able to go on Sunday. It is definitely a good sign that both were questionable though.
Especially Shaughnessy, whose shoulder injury has been shockingly un-discussed.
Among those ruled out for this game are Louis Murphy and Chris Johnson for the Raiders and TE Aaron Hernandez, T Sebastian Vollmer and DE Mike Wright.
The Raiders will definitely miss Johnson, whose shoes will likely be filled by a combination of Chimdi Chekwa and Joe Porter. The corners are going to be tested early and often in this one. Hernandez has been a huge target for Brady in the passing offense, but they certainly have enough weapons that his absence is nothing this offense can't overcome.
Another thing to note here is that G Logan Mankins was limited in practice again with an illness. His playing status has not yet been announced. I have no idea what this means. Although, you have to believe he will play. If not, that will be a huge loss for the Patriots.

vollmer is a big loss for them
I believe the rookie solder will be playing – from what I’ve seen he looks ineffective and weak. plus I believe he is the result of the “big dick” draft pick.

That list really scares me ...
Wow, guys … we have a scary-bad list of injuries to the secondary for a day when the Pats are coming to town.
D-Line is going to have to step it big time and regularly introduce Brady’s facemask to the freshly-sodded infield, otherwise it’s going to be a long day for whatever’s left of our defense that’s actually healthy enough to play.
That, and McFadden and Bush are going to need to run very consistently and pick up first downs to keep the Pat’s O off the field as much as possible.
Not that we can’t win this game … but all these injuries are going to make it WAY more difficult. I sure hope Mitchell can go this week, and is able to play at something remotely close to his usual level.
Right now I’m sure wishing we hadn’t lost Hiram Eugene and Travis Goethel for the season …
I’m also wondering if we’re not paying a price at this point for our vaunted ‘physicality’.
