Ok, I've been reading way to much garbage on the internet where "so-called" Raiders fans are calling for Hue's job. First let me make this clear, I am a Raiders fan, always have been, always will be. I've endured the same as everyone else has over the last several years.
I won't lie, I jumped on the Jamarshmallow band-wagon when we picked him, I just knew he was going to take us to the promise land. There are several band-wagons I've jumped on but this one I wont. First thing, we all heard the talk and we believed that Hue could do it, I still think he can, you could even see it in Mr Davis's eyes, he was excited about Hue becoming the HC and that's something I haven't seen for along time with Al.
Now for us to get as far as we did this season is a win in itself, first we lose our owner (RIP Mr Davis), then we lose our QB, most of our top receivers are down and then we lose our RB, the best in the league at the time. Once JC went down I knew we had no chance at any type of playoffs, not with our back-ups. I doubt very many of you truly thought we could still make it to the playoffs once we lost JC and D-Mac. I had a faint thought at first, maybe we could pick Carson because of the Hue connection but then I figured with Al gone there's no way we can get anyone, were doomed. Then Hue pulled off what everyone should have seen coming, he brought in Carson Palmer. Yes before you go yelling about how bad Carson is remember, he had been sitting for several months on the couch watching TV. How many of you could do what Carson did?, none and please don't try to say you can either. For the first time since 2002 we actually have a team that can do it, they can get to the playoffs and they could go deep into them. I don't think they are ready for the Super Bowl just yet but I say that only because there hasn't been any consistency with coaches and staff.
Yes our D coordinator needs to go, why we picked him up after he was booted from KC I'll never know but it is his time to go. That also brings me to this, yes Hue is the coach but his assistants have to do their jobs too so you can't blame the D or lack of D on Hue. I still have faith in the Raiders and I believe that once Carson gets a training camp in and under his belt with this offense and if our D actually shows up to play a full game we can run with the best of them. Now if we are sitting here talking about this again at the end of next year I'll be the first one to admit I was wrong and start the war chant calling for heads to roll...
