Hue Jackson Reacts To Firing (CSN Bay Area/Henry Wofford)
"I'm going to bring in my own guys," Jackson said he was told.
Jackson said he asked McKenzie if he was being let go because of his coaching or his relationship with players and McKenzie refused to go deep in detail, but said it had nothing to do with rumors of a bad relationship with the players.

Wow.
From Wofford’s twitter:
https://twitter.com/HenryWoffordCSN
Hue Jackson so angry he could barely get his words out during our conversation. He said he can’t believe his friend fired him.

now it might be me but……" it has nothing to do with rumors of a bad relationship with the players"…….sounds to me like it has everything to do with the fact of a bad relationship

Sounds to me it was because of his coaching...which includes having a good relationship with players

He Jackson had a poor relationship with the players, especially the receivers. He thought they may have cost him his job but was not the case

Did you know his relationship with receivers was strained?
I didn’t – there was speculation about it, but I always thought it was just speculation. Now, while angry, he confirms it.

The guy still finished 8-8 after losing his starting QB, RB, and a slew of WR injuries. Don’t know who would want to step into this job now.
really worry
this is real worry for sure. jackson
Can't say I'm overly surprised by the news
I’ve been critical of Hue recently but I did like the idea of stability and giving Hue another shot at implementing his vision for this team. I hate changing coaches like underwear and I can’t imagine many players like seeing this either…our own players…or potential free agents. This is just going to open up another can of “Look at the Raiders dysfunction” crap from the media.

here's a story from PFT
“Hue Jackson wanted more power, and he wound up with no power.
He’s out after going 8-8 in his only season as Raiders head coach. Jackson, who is friends with new G.M. Reggie McKenzie, was stunned by the development.
"He’s going to gut this place," Jackson told Henry Wofford of CSNBayArea.com. "He [McKenzie] wants to bring in his own guys. No job is safe right now."
That sounds like a promising development for the Raiders. While some will connect Jackson’s firing with the instability of the last decade in Oakland, McKenzie is making a clean break from that past.
Raiders fans should want a fresh start, with changes at every level of the coaching staff and management. Get rid of the dysfunction. McKenzie is going to bring in people from Green Bay that he trusts.
Jackson was understandably shaken Tuesday, reportedly so upset he could barely speak. He got caught in the crossfire.
That’s unfortunate timing, but ultimately keeping Jackson would have added to the dysfunction. McKenzie reportedly said it didn’t have to do with Jackson’s bad relationship with some of his players.
Jackson’s all-in trade for Carson Palmer was only one example that Jackson was looking out for Jackson in 2011, and not the Raiders organization long-term.
Jackson ultimately took a big swing in his one year in Oakland. He missed. The team didn’t make the playoffs and Jackson coached an undisciplined, inconsistent team. Just like Tom Cable.
McKenzie is the new leader in Oakland. His vision didn’t include Jackson, so the team is better off not wasting a year or two before McKenzie brought in a coach he truly wanted."

Count on McK to bring in a proven veteran- maybe a HoF candidate level coach, with Mark’s blessing.

Last season was a failure as Hue was clearly more interested in power grabbing than coaching the team. Hue is also absolutely clueless about defense which makes him a completely inadequate to be a head coach.

If McKenzie is going to gut house, then we will need draft picks this year...
Trade DMC for picks? I know we all love his talent, but it never matters much when he’s on the sideline. I’m almost 100% sure we will resign Bush, he is in his prime and can clearly play the every down back role. I expect Routt, Huff, and Seymour are possibly on the trading/chopping block as well.
"In football, I root for the Oakland Raiders because they hire castoffs, outlaws, malcontents, and f*ck -ups, they have lots of penalties, fights, and paybacks, and because Al Davis told the rest of the pig NFL owners to go get f*cked... Someday, the Raiders will be strong again, and they will dip the ball in **** and shove it down the throats of the wholesome, white, heartland teams that pray together and don't deliver late hits"

"I'll do anything to score a touchdown. And I'm not afraid like some people, their afraid to call those plays. I'm not. That's the way I like to live my life, I like to live on the edge. And that's the way it is, and that's the way it's gon' be."
-Hue Jackson
I'd like to resign Bush if possible too but
Bush, he is in his prime and can clearly play theevery downbig back to spell mcfadden role
our running game the last half of the year SUCKED with Bush as the lead dog. He doesn’t have the outside speed or the moves necessary to dominate. I like the guy and he’s a great #2. But trading McFadden and counting on him is a huge mistake.
I see the concerns with McFadden’s injury history. But he’s too young and too good to give up on… yet
Not start over, but we def need to revamp the defense. Our CBs are either garbage, overpaid, or unproven and our LB core is absolute trash. If we don’t trade for picks, than we should at least trade for the personelle we are clearly lacking.

Is it too much to ask to win now?
I hate rebuilding, especially when this team looks so close to being a championship caliber team…its been a long 9 years missing the playoffs….its tough loving your team so much….
I'm not too worried about destroying the strong core...
That has not gotten us a winning season since 2002. We have better talent than an 8-8 record. Injuries were definitely a factor, but even with injuries, we finished the season in a weak fashion leading to us missing the playoffs again. I don’t think it’s a question of a mass exodus, more of changing people who will fit with the system—whatever it turns out to be. In the case of Hue, I don’t think he fit with the system.
@WorldBLee
The "O" Will Be Diferant...Does Palmer Even Fit In???
It’s good to change the “D” but to what?…3-4 without the personnel to run it?

I think if McKenzie sees us as a playoff team, CP stays. If he doesn’t, we resign Campbell. Basically down to how good McKenzie thinks we are.

Cpt. Checkdown is also worth about 1/4 of what CP3 will get paid next year. Clearly CP is better, but is he really going to be the guy who can carry our team when our defense can’t stop one drive? I don’t think so. I’ve been blaming Bres for the horrors of our D all year, but after watching their pathetic display week 17 where they didn’t seem to even want to make a tackle, I’ve had it with about everybody in our defensive backfield aside from Branch. And as for our LBs…dear god. Wimbley cannot play a 4-3 OLB as he is horrendous in coverage and not a very good run stopper. He would be a great 3-4 OLB, but as he is literally our only solid LB he might as well just replace Jarvis Moss as DE. McClain doesn’t seem to even give a shit when he’s on the field, and apparently even less when he’s off the field. Curry is the only LB with some promise, and that’s reaching. Also, what the fuck happened to our DL? Shaughnessy is gone and suddenly they can’t provide any pressure without 2 dbs or lbs blitzing? I don’t know if it’s the coaching but something needs to reignite what was once a fearsome front four. Our defense will hold us back as long as it stays the way it is, we need big moves.

Papa made a good point today
he thinks even if Davis were alive and still running things, Jackson probably gets fired for missing the playoffs. Jackson didn’t keep his players focused on the necessities, did not exemplify the right stuff himself as a leader to get through critical injuries to the team and win very important, close games, especially at home when they sold out all the home games.
Music is the Healing Force of the Universe (a.ayler)
Fair point
When you think about it, there’s no way Al told Hue he got the job and that he could keep it without bringing him a playoff appearance. If Al thought 8-8 was good enough, he would have kept Cable.

Just found the phrase funny on this particular thread.

He ate the whole pan!
The only thing that i keep thinking is how Bill Romanowski loves this guys and blames the players and their lack of talent….
I still think talent is an issue but why would you ever have LB’s cover Megatron and Vincent Jackson…

It's funny to see that rant now
And think of the ending lines being similar to Charlie Sheen’s meltdown last year, heh. Winning! Both were delusional and both got smoked: although one literally and the other just fired.

just great...
thats friendship for you in the nfl. kenzie dumps Hue Jax in order to “bring in my own guys” and doesn’t even go into detail as to why the move was made. I actually want to see the reasoning behind it that way I can gauge what his vision for the team is.
Hue was one of the few offensive minded coaches I can remember who actually mentioned building a bully or getting better on defense. did it translate on the field, no. throw in defensive starters injured, a joke of a DC and penalties that allowed opposing offenses to stay on the field. but has any other rookie nfl coach in the league ever had to wear as many hats as he did and still managed to come out with .500 as opposed to a losing record? find me one please.
The man shouldve gotten his shot next yr.
All this talk about Gruden is making me sick. Revisionist history is not needed here. We need a DC who is proven or at least smart enough to call the right schemes. Panda was not. Even Gruden praised the Hue move to HC based on Hue having worked with him in the past. Having been in Baltimore and seen the great defense they had and the epic battles with Pittsburgh most definitely influenced him to want to build a bully. Thankfully Al managed to get us a core of Offense that is young and fast and coupled with a hungry D like Denver’s we’d be in the playoffs this weekend. But were not.
Hope is a powerful drug so Ill just stand back and monitor Reggie’s moves since he hasn’t fully explained his reasoning behind this first.

nothing shocks me anymore, but i seriously want to see the concrete reasoning behind this. if its legit fine, but if its some half assed reasoning, the Nation deserves better.
