Now this is not 100% but I have a very strong gut feeling (my gut feelings are typically right) our "new" coach will be Jon Gruden. Before your disregard my post, look at the logic's, the motivation, and over all, just give it a chance.
First off, I want to shut down all the Gruden haters who falsely believe Gruden was the cause of TB's demise... After winning the superbowl the Bucs went 7–9 and 5–11 respectively. This led people to believe Gruden had taken over a strong team and then driven it into the ground. However, there was several reasons for the cause of the demise. The high draft picks sacrificed by the team to acquire Gruden, along with salary-cap issues and failed draft choices forced upon him by the now-departed Rich McKay (with whom Gruden had a bitter relationship) limited Gruden's ability to field the teams he wanted after that successful Super Bowl-winning season. With no emerging talent in the fold and no money to afford replacements, combined with a team dismantled by injuries (some of which included Joe Jurevicius, Greg Spires, Shelton Quarles, and (cornerback), as well as acrimony with highly-paid veterans such as, big mouth bitch Sapp, Keyshawn Johnson and Keenan McCardell.) was the actual cause of TB's demise, not Gruden... Now lets look at why hes going to come to oakland.
To start off, every big transition or movement needs motivation, or in certain circumstances, persuasion. The persuasion for this movement is the great john madden. Madden as you all know has had his hands deep in our organization since the death of the great Al Davis. Madden, is very close to Gruden. But obviously simply pursuation is not enough, this is where logistics come into play.
Mackenzie is very similar to Al in his hopes and dreams but his way of business could not be more different. Mackenzie plans rework the office into a well oiled machine, after that hes going to invest his time in scouting players and opponents. this leaves allot of power to gruden, something he desperately desires. Gruden will not only pick the DC and OC but he'l tell them what there eating for breakfast. This type of military control is exactly what a highly talented but sloppy team needs. With a solid combination of these individuals along with well picked OC and DC, gives the raider franchise a very good chance to be superpower, for a very very long time. consider this, gruden for the last few years has dedicated all his work time to Analyzing player and teams. He's extremely ready to coach against top opponents. A few years down the road when teams change styles/players and his previous insight is drained, we will have a fully loaded roster and Mackenzie to continue to scouting.
While it was reported Mackenzie fired jackson, I read earlier from multiple source's it was actually Davis. Why would davis do this? Madden told him to, Why would madden tell him to? Gruden.
To top it off gruden has recently been hinting at returning to coaching in 2012, heres an articles to rest my case.
