Who do you cheer for?

PrintI grew up with indifferent feelings towards the sport of football. I never liked it or hated it. It was something that was just their. I had never followed football, either; that all changed about three years ago. It was at that time that I was drawn to the allure and awesomeness that is the Oakland Raiders and the Raider Nation. I have since fallen in love with the team and have tried to learn everything I can about their 42 season life. I do confess, however, that I have not been to a game yet, and I will not consider myself a true fan until I do so. I live in New Jersey and plan to someday soon travel to O.co and see a home game. Anyway, I pose this question to you fans for my curiosity. As you can imagine, a lot of people in my area are Giants/Jets/Eagles fans. The Giants go to Candlestick on Sunday to battle the 49ers for the NFC Championship. As a Raiders fan, who do you root for? I would prefer not to cheer for NY, because EVERYONE here is, but I also do not know if cheering for the 9ers goes beyond the Fan Code of Conduct. Just curious about everyone's opinions on the subject is. Thanks!

Raider fan, true Raider fans will tell you,
That besides our storied past with KC, SD, and Denver, the only other team in the NFL that we hate is the 40 whiners. That side of the bay is the gaybay, and true Raider fans hate the whiners. The talk of sharing a stadium with them makes me sick and I would rather the Raiders move back to LA then share. The city of Oakland needs to nut up and build the Raiders their own stadium. Go RAIDERS and Go GIANTS! In Eli I believe!
How about anyone commenting leaving your league champion predictions. I SEE A NYG VS. NE SUPERBOWL.

all these niner fans coming outta nowhere to brag about who’s got it better than them, pfttt. half the time they have nothing better to do than put down the raiders and that sickens me. definitely pulling for the giants. nyg-ne super bowl could be cool, but i like baltimore so i would root for them too given the chance.
fuck the weiners! no way in hell i root for them!
people wearing red jerseys and are coming out of the woodwork and jumping on the weiner bandwagon. i hope the giants win, and the ravens win. ya i enjoyed and cheered brady last week to beat up tewbo. no more cheering for the pats. ravens will beat the pats and giants beat the weiners.

I don't care about the Niners
but one of my best mates and another good mate are die-hard Giants fans so I jump on their bandwagon whenever a situation calls for it.

Your like my dad, no loyalty other than the state he’s living in. He always rooted for SD because I am a Raider. Then Grandma moved to WA. St. And he became a Seahawks fan. Now he’s in AZ. and now it’s kinda the cardinals. How old are you Mallard?

I’m 57 and have been a Raiders fan since age 8 in 1963 when my dad used to take me to Raiders games at Frank Youll Field. I have been a Raiders fan longer than most posting on this site have been alive AND I root for all Bay Area teams.

like mallard I root for all bay area teams.
I only follow the raiders, SF giants( no band wagon have for my whole life), sharks and warriors. If the niners or athletics are playing why would I root against them? I have no love in particular for anywhere outside the bay, so I’d rather keep the winning here.
Now about niners fans… I agree most of those guys are pretty lame old men or wanna be nortenos in some fucking ugly gear. The niners logo is just not intimidating and looks stupid blown up. But that doesn’t make me hate their team. I would just never be caught dead wearing anything other than silver and black.
This point of view may be due to my age, I was born in 1990, so since I got into football about 1998, Steve young got taken out and the niners have pretty much not been impressive until now.

The forty whiners fucking hate theyre guts. My dad and most of my friends are also whiners, can’t wait for Eli to put a show on. I see a ny and ne Super Bowl just because I don’t think the ravens have a consistent offense.

So they lose sooner, and we can loot their defensive staff, get people in here who actually know what a defense is supposed to look like.
Was born and raised in the Bay
So i always root for Nor Cal Teams and teams in the west (except for the chargers and lakers)
I also root for teams that havent being to the SB in a while or underdogs
Im sick of the Pats and Steelers going to the SB
