In Defense of the New Guy
When the reports began circulating that Dennis Allen was being brought in for a second interview and was the front runner to be our head coach I was very skeptical considering he came straight from the Broncos organization and has only had a year of coordinator experience. I like many also was a bit flustered with the immediate firing of Hue Jackson much like I was last year when Tom Cable abruptly got the axe mainly to prevent Hue from ironically possibly head out to Denver to be their HC. However like a family member you fight with all the time until somebody outside the family badmouths them I must step in and back up my loved ones. The newest member of the extended Oakland Raider family is of course Coach Allen. Once again mainstream media and more specifically Yahoo blogger Jason Cole had to criticize the Raiders organization by dropping his two cents about the poor decision to let go of Jackson in favor of the young, upstart Allen. He stated once again there is no stability at the head coaching position of the Raiders and also that the Broncos' defensive improvement may likely be more a credit to John Fox's tutelage of Allen as well as the potent Von-Doom Duo's emergence. I will say this is once again lazy journalism at its finest as the hire makes perfect sense considering Allen's background is in a 4-3 thus the transition to his style would be much less dramatic. Also consider the fact the Raiders' defense of 2011-12 was not only one of the worst in its history but the worst in the history of the NFL. They have the distinction of being one of four teams to allow 30 TD passes and a 5.0 rushing yards per carry avg along with this year's just as horrid Tampa Bay Bucs, a measure in defensive futility not reached since the 1952 Dallas Texans. We also were one of six teams since the merger to allow 4,000 yards passing and 2,000 yards rushing. Let's also not forget about the most penalized team in NFL history. Now I ask those questioning whether we are going forwards or backwards with the last two head coaching moves made by Reggie McKenzie? Also how many head coaching vacancies was Hue Jack offered, let alone interviewed for? I'll tell you, a big, fat 0. So to welcome in the newest coach in Raiders history I offer a good luck charm to not only cleanse him of his Bronco taint but also a rally cry whenever we play those Donkeys going forward. I give you Orange Darth!
Good luck Coach and let's hope this is only the first of many contract extensions with the Raiders well after 2016. Give em hell!

I agree. We can bitch amonst each other all we want, but nobody on the outside better say shit!

If you ever wanted to see Boise St play...may be a good chance. Love em or Hate em, they are always interesting; and now, no matter where you live, "They're Coming To Your City"
Luck will be needed
I’m not thrilled with Allen, but McKenzie is so I’ll back the man. And he’s a Raider coach now, so support is a given. I don’t agree with a lot Cole says, but sometimes he makes some valid points and harsh truths. There hasn’t been stability at head coach in Oakland for a long time. Al was firing guys with the quickness. On one hand, they were losing games. On the other, Al hired these guy’s in the first place. We have a brand new GM and yet another new, rookie head coach. Even if he gets 4 years, if he goes 6-10 the next two years will he be fired? Coaching for the Raiders has been seen as very difficult given how much of a role Al played. He is gone, hopefully McKenzie brings back some respectablity at the position. Cole is right about that though. And Allen was a coordinator for only 1 year in Denver. The Von-Doom duo was amazing and definitely contributed to his success as DC. He helped the defense improve, but so did the defensive minded coaching of John Fox. Cole isn’t wrong to bring up those concerns. We have no idea what Allen can do yet. I’m going to give him a chance. I don’t expect much this year, but in year 2 I expect greater improvement. I still need to hear what Allen’s plans are with the team. As of now, I’m cautiously optimistic about the Raider’s future.

First off, I ain't cleaning nobody's taint
The stability question for me is now solved. We have a new GM and are finally moving in a new direction. God rest ya, Al, but good GM you were not and we were stuck with you in that position for a long time after you had proven it.
As far as I am concerned, this is the new start. We had new coaches, but there was always “Coach Davis” looking over shoulders. That’s why Hue had to go. He was the last patch on the old tire that we were trying to drive to a SuperBowl with. Now we have a brand new tire, hopefully connected to a battle wagon.
For the record
Hue interviewed for Ram OC and Cardinal QBs coach. Some are saying he’s in consideration for the Colts OC spot as well.
Anyway, we’ve already proven over the years how impatient we are with coaches. It’s no big stretch that some people would be dubious over a new guy. One of these days, we might want to overextend ourselves and go beyond either slavish devotion or virulent hatred, and try and find a middle ground ie.
The Case for Allen
1. Defensive minded
2. Improved Broncos defense
3. Has all the advantages coaches of the past have not had (picking own staff, more than 1 year to prove himself, less of a big brother looking over shoulder, etc.)
4. A ball buster (because lord knows asses need to be kicked on this team)
The Case Against Allen
1. Noob
2. Broncos defense improved because it couldn’t possibly get any worse
3. Nazis can lose the locker room in a hurry if they’re not careful
4. Probably knows squat about offense
All that being said. He’s our guy know, so let’s see what he can do.
For the record if he was such a great coach how many Head Coaching jobs did he interview for?
Zero. He bit himself in the ass with that presser at the end of the year and the Carson trade didn’t help his case either. Dude may not be getting a HC job again anytime soon.
Trust No One
Studies show stress can kill you, but don't worry about it.

Didn't say he was a great coach
Just pointing out that he has been interviewing. Carson trade isn’t on him, it’s on Mark who claimed it and said he would do it again.
Is Saunders at the Sr. Bowl ???
He’s still under contract, for 1. He HASN’T been fired , #2. The man knows his offense, and knows who would fit good with it !!!! I’m betting, HE IS DOWN THERE IN MOBILE !!! When huebris,(lmao, huebris) hired Saunders,(and Al) they talked about that playbook, with over 500 plays in it, not that Hubris called any more than 30 different plays, AT THE MOST !!! I think our young HC, would give himself a break, and use this knowledge to his own benefit, and make Saunders the OC.
Well, alright then !!!
And He’s,(that being Saunders) the ONLY one in Raider gear, from the old staff !!! Hmmm. Interesting, very interesting !!! I take it, Panda got his fatazz down there, to brown nose up on another job, cause my gut is telling me that Allen will see and smell the panda’s bullshit, from around the corner, and a couple miles down the road !!!!
