LET'S UNITE AS RAIDER NATION...CHANGE IS FINALLY HERE.

I have been reading many different takes on the coaching choice for our Oakland Raiders. Some fans are really hating it, and some are feeling pretty good about it. Whatever side you may be on, you have to understand that this is the start of something great. Since the franchise began, Al davis has had the keys to the the car for this storied franchise and to his respect, made it great. I grew up watching Al walk the sidelines at games and thinking, is this guy the coach? I was about 6 years old mind you, but you get the picture. Al Davis was the Raiders and the Raiders were him. I became a raider fan here in texas amidst all the Dallas Cowgirl fans. I loved that everyone hated the raiders and their style. That is why in so many movies , we route for the bad guy. As the years went on, I feel the game passed the Great Al Davis. I always knew, that until Al Davis gives up control or god for bid passes away. Things were never gonna change. I still cheered my ass off the Raiders every single season, thinking that this might be the year. I love Al Davis for starting the raiders and giving me a passion. Unfortunately in his latter years, we became a joke of an organization. That brings me to my point. Change is finally here. Nothing was ever going to get better until what has happened here the past year. We now have a credible football guy running the show. We are hiring a young defensive minded coach. And well raiders fans, this makes me excited about the future. Whether you agree or disagree with the hiring, you have to admit, it is going to be alot different around raider nation, I happen to think for the better. Let us unite as Raider Nation and welcome Dennis Allen, and give him every opportunity to bring us back to greatness. Thank You AL Davis for creating the Raiders for us to live and die for. Right now the Nation is alive. Change is finally here..

Defensive Minded Head Coach...for the Raiders... not since Madden !!!

This has to be a plus !!!! So Big Mck (R.McKenzie) is batting 1.000%. We all know a defensive mind was needed, so let it be the HC, because the question is, can he make the current players, feel his flow, and go all in with his schemes !!! If he does, the west is ours for the taking, AGAIN !!!

I'm optimistic like always,

I’ve been pretty concerned about the defense, for about 2 decades. Presently, this is a pass happy league, and we just haven’t had the cohesion amongst the DB’s to be dominant. Hopefully Allen will put together a sort of Black Plague back there, so any time you throw the ball past the line backers, bad things happen, like it did with these guys-

Its Silver & Black, not black

Bring back this

If you ever wanted to see Boise St play...may be a good chance. Love em or Hate em, they are always interesting; and now, no matter where you live, "They're Coming To Your City"

Yea, that was the end of a 18 year run of bad ass Raider ball,

Afterwards, it was like the dark ages, when all the bandwagen bitches, bunny hopped over to the whiners. I still have my LA front license plate & my worn out baseball hat too. You can find it in google images under “LA Raiders harley lester hayes posters”

Rec'd on that.

Lets just hope these new dudes can bring back that kind of Pride & Band of Brother shit again. I know its fun to be a bad ass Raider fan an all, but I just wish there was more emphasis on the team being that way again. My rugby teammates were pretty bad ass back then, but when we partied with those dudes, they even scared us . Especially the Tooz! That guy was fucking fun as hell, but real scary.

The empire strikes back!!!

This is a great change in the right direction. Besides the defensive minded coach, and even more important is the fact that he is detail oriented. The attention to detail is exactly what the Raiders need on allthe three phases. Our Offense needs it in route running, our defense needs it everywhere, and special teams, kickoff return needs it for consistent returns. Each and every player will benefit from Allen’s military approach!!!

Different attitude

I hope Allen is the right man for the Raiders. I definitely like the fact that he’s a defensive minded coach. He has his work cut out for him, especially in molding a new attitude among the players, and instilling a sense of disciplined play on the field. From what I’ve heard, so far, I believe he’ll do it. That alone will be a big improvement. I’m behind this guy and hope he’ll lead the Raiders back to the playoffs within the next couple of seasons.

I found an interesting article about coaches.
“As recent history proves, winning is overrated when searching for a coach capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl title.”
