Can the Raiders avoid another embarrassing loss to a bad team?
Greetings, Raider fans. It is I, RaiderDamus, back again with visions of the future. Now I may not be the most popular guy around here, predicting loss after loss, but the Raiders keep proving me right week after week. So what will happen this week?
The Raiders are truly a team in turmoil after the total inability of the offense to get anything going, and the collapse of what had appeared to be a promising defense before the season started. The team has been beset with injury but that is no excuse for poor play amongst the guys who actually get playing time. The whole season has been awful. The coaching sucks, the players have sucked, everything sucks and the only light at the end of the tunnel is that we still have a first round pick next year. Let us hope we use it wisely. I will of course have much to say about the draft when this abortion of a season comes to a merciful end.
Concerning this game, I think we all have to think back to the Browns-Cowboys game a few weeks ago. The Browns nearly won the game, and Brandon Weeden was very efficient. The Browns should have won the game, there was no excuse for them not to have done so. Instead the Cowboys won in overtime, because they got their collective stuff together long enough to mount a few drives. Will the Raiders be able to do that?
Ha! Ha! No. The mere question is absurd. The Raiders haven't had their collective head out of their collective rear end since the fourth quarter of the Steelers game. This team is totally reliable and can be counted on to do one thing more consistently than any other team- to screw up and make a mess of things at the worst possible time. That is what they will do against the Browns. They will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Let's face it, the Browns suck. They will draft in the top five in April. But will we draft before them or behind them? I say before. Browns win, 27-16.
