(Mock) draft options

1st round probably a top 5 pick. The majority opinion is this will be where the Raiders select Manti Teo. I wouldn't be mad and the thought of Burris, Teo, and Wheeler at LB, 3 blue collar guys who hustle to the football would solve a lot of problems on defense.

1st round option 2- trade down. This would be a smart option also especially if the Raiders were to pick a pass rusher, QB, or CB. Any position that commands a lot of money. If the raiders were to pick a pass rusher there are a few guys with potential but I'm skeptical if any are ready to start at the same level of Teo instantly. The raiders don't need a project 1st rounder it needs Day one starter. So while guys like Barkevious Mingo or Sam Montgomry from LSU, Dion Jordan from Oregon, Jarvis Jones from Georgia or even Ezekial Ansah from BYU might be sexy picks...they don't strike me as day 1 starters like Von Miller was for Denver and might take a season or two before their full potentil is tapped.

2nd round pick 35~38 this is where the Raiders should take a shot on a high potential guy. I'd like to see the Raiders select one of those aforementioned pass rushers should they fall to the top of the 2nd round.

I wouldn't be mad to see the Raiders trade down again and select a space eater tackle. I'm talking about a guy who commands double teams even at the expense of pass rushing talent. We already have 4 under tackles on the roster (Seymour, Kelly, Bryant, and Houston) and not a single Nose Tackle and it shows in our run defense.

Round 3 pick 67~70. Now it's time to fill out roster for depth and projects. There are a lot of options here so I'll treat round 3-7 the same. We need a RB who doesn't get hurt, doesn't fumble, and gets tough yards. We DON'T need a home run hitter. I'd rather have a Frank Gore type who has enough wiggle to gain yards through traffic. Look for the raiders to follow other teams examples drop McFadden and get probably 2rbs in late rounds. I'd like to see Eddie Lacy, Montee Ball, or Stepfan Taylor in a raiders jersey.

The raiders also need to draft some defensive backs. This has become a position where young and relatively unknown prospects can produce in the NFL. Also with teams passing to more and more athletic TE's I'd like to see a tall DB who can blanket TE's. hopefully David Amerson from South Carolina, Tim McDonald from USC, Eric Reid from LSU can get a look and will be on the board late.

Who else would you like to see the Raiders draft?
