Dennis Allen today made it official - Terrelle Pryor will start the Raiders final game of the 2012 season in San Diego.
With Carson Palmer out with a cracked rib and bruised lung, it was up in the air as to who would actually get the start this Sunday between Matt Leinart and Terrelle Pryor. On Thursday Allen said the two quarterbacks split snaps evenly.
On Friday, as the media window closed, Pryor was seen taking the first snaps with the first team offense. After practice Dennis Allen announced it and the team made it official.
This will be the first start of Pryor's career. The Raiders want to get a long look at him to help them decide what his future holds. Whether it be a future starter in Oakland, a position change, or trade bait. How he plays in this game will go a long way to helping them evaluate him.
He has seen six snaps as a Raider this season. He went 1-2 on passes for 5 yards, one catch for 22 yards, one rush for 2 yards, and two handoffs.
Several other Raiders are set to make their first start Sunday as well. Read more about them here.
