Allen Having A Rough Time Gaining Access To The Coaches He Would Like To Interview
In a year that pool of available coaches and coordinators is thin at best, Coach Allen has had his search further complicated, due to being denied access to the candidates he would like to interview .
Like it or not the offensive staff is starting to take shape with the hires of OC Greg Knapp , OL coach Frank Pollack , and the retention of Kelly Skipper . Things are not going so smoothly as Coach Allen turns his focus to defense and special teams .
Coach Allen's first choice for defensive coordinator most likely would have been Richard Smith , who coached his linebackers in Denver . That option was taken off the table when Denver denied Oakland permission to speak with him. Dallas has also denied permission to speak to Joe DeCamillis , Coach Allens choice for assistant head coach , and Oakland is currently waiting to see if Green Bay will grant them permission to speak to cornerbacks coach Joe Witt , for the defensive coordinator job.
While the list of candidates interviewing with the Oakland Raiders seems underwhelming at best , keep in mind , the pool of candidates is thin this year , the unemployed candidates are unemployed for a reason , and the teams around the league seem less than enthusiastic about granting Oakland permission to speak to coaches they would like.

He's only 33 with little experience
He’s an unknown that’s for sure. I take it we are asking about GBay coaches cause they might the one team that wouldn’t deny us access to talk to their coaches because of McKenzie. I’d rather us talk to Darren Perry.
You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who makes people happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea.
Allen also wanted to interview Bill Johnson, the DL coach from the Saints
and was denied.
Very disappointing to see teams deny their employees a chance to advance their career.

All kinds of wrong!
Al Davis the Greatest Raider of all times... You will live forever in the hearts of true Raider fans...RIP
oops forgot ont your absolutely right , there are a couple really good former d coordinators that are looking for work because they didnt work out as head coaches too ,
singletary bombed as a head coach , but he would make an awesome d coordinator
I'd like to think so
The Bears being my second team, but there was complaints about him in Minnesota being lazy as a LBs coach, showing up late, etc. Still if anybody could whip McClain into shape, it’s him.
too many military personalities will conflict
with each other and the players. They need someone that will win over the locker room but still know what they are doing. So I would have to rule Singletary out
I don’t know why they said anything about a ST coach…WE HAD A GOOD ONE!!! anyway…glad to see the colts saved us…shit we might as well pick up Mike singletary…
I disagree. Seabass and Lechler will do their thing regardless of who is the ST coordinator. Our coverage unit was pretty bad all year. I want a beast kick and punt coverage unit like the Niners have.

Justin Griffith is back
For QC. And just what the hell does a QC guy do?

I guess Quality Control breaks down the game film. In this case Justin Griffith will be breaking down offensive film.
Been nice to have Justin Fargas comeback if were going to start bringing in previous tailbacks.
