Rock Cartwright wins second straight Commitment to Excellence award

The 10th annual Oakland Raiders commitment to excellence award has been awarded to Rock Cartwright for the second straight year.

VERY cool photo: Commitment to Excellence Award winner Rock Cartwright poses for a photo with GM Reggie McKenzie, Head Coach Dennis Allen, former WR Tim Brown, former LT Barry Sims, Hall of Famers Jim Otto and Willie Brown, running backs coach Kelly Skipper, former WR Morris Bradshaw and linebackers coach Johnny Holland.

Recipients of the award, who are chosen by their teammates, exemplify throughout the season pride, poise and excellence and show leadership not only on the field but in the community as well.

Aside from being an outstanding special team player and captain in Rocks time with us in Oakland as well as in his time in Washington he has proven to be an ultimate leader being voted team captain for both franchises and his contribution very often goes unappreciated by the average fan but as being voted the winner twice in a row by his team mates shows his impact on and off the field has been immense. Add to this his work in the community and all in all you have a man the Raider Nation can be very proud to have representing us.

I personally believe he is someone who must be brought back and it sounds like he wants to be back so fingers crossed. Only time will tell but either way congratulations Rock on this much deserved award.
