Raiders trade down in round five

Stay connected for news and updates

Alameda, CA, USA; General view of the Oakland Raiders practice facility.

With the very first draft pick the Raiders could trade in the 2012 draft, they have traded out. They traded out of their fifth round pick slot (148) down to pick 158 with the Detroit Lions. They pick up a round seven pick (230) in the trade.

The trade will bring the Raiders total draft pick haul this year to six picks. They didn't previously have a pick in the seventh round.

The draft is moving fast and there are still several players available. Pop into my Raider draft radar live draft blog to keep up to date on the player projected to be on the Raiders draft board. Thus far both of the Raiders picks, offensive guard Tony Bergstrom and outside linebacker Miles Burris were high on the draft board.
