Death Ro options

Lethal injection, gas chamber, firing squad...oh wait. Wrong Death Row.

Rolando McClain seems to be in need of corrective surgery. Correct his brain, pulling head from rectal cavity, etc. All the while making the job of one Reggie McKenzie a verifiable pain in the (where Ro's head seems to be).

Now many are calling for trading him, cutting him, whatever form of violence suits their opinion. This would be understandable, because this is not the time to screw things up. Not with a new guy running the organization and a commisioner hellbent on discipline. Even the Bengals are mad, cause they really want a 1st round pick next year. And we really want to give them a 1st rather than a 2nd.

Right now we have to face one fact: He's not going anywhere for right now. The Raiders have some options, and honestly, trading isn't viable at the moment. His trade value is similar to mine, in that we'd pretty much get nothing in return, and truthfully, his cap number would hinder our ability to trade him even for a McFlurry.

In an upgrade from the old overhead projector, Reggie might put together a sweet looking powerpoint presentation showing why we are cutting him with prejudice to avoid cap issues. Maybe if Al were still alive, I'd see this as a distinct possibility, but I just can't see cutting him. If he was Ja**** bad, maybe, but he's just meh so far as a MLB. 3rd year tends to be a putup/shutup year for all players, and our options behind him aren't exciting or even good. Travis Goethel is starting to worry me as he seems bent on taking the Chaz Schilens route of staying on the roster.

Restructuring the contract might be the most feasible option. Even his agent has to know that this is a very bad situation his client is in. And while being cut might not be a feasible possibility, it is a very real possibility. He can go ask Stanford Routt and CJ how screwing up worked for them. They screwed up on the field by masquerading as starting corners. And since Ro hasn't exactly turned into a stud MLB since day one, he ought to be able to hear the knives being sharpened.

I'm hoping against hope that this is the wake up call that turns Death Ro into a standout MLB that hasn't been seen in 10 years. God knows we need that. But I've learned from previous players that stupid is hard to fix. And can we ban guys from going to Alabama? It seems stupidity happens from guys going to Alabama. The state, not the school.
