Report: Raiders looking at Cedric Benson, Ryan Grant

Steve Cokran reports Oakland is interested in Cedric Benson and Ryan Grant . The preference seems to be Ryan Grant who rushed for 559 yds in Green Bay last season, but Benson is said to have a real desire to join the silver and black .

John Clayton from ESPN reports Benson has stated that he is still hoping to fill the void left behind when Michael Bush left for Chicago, and that he may be willing to work for the veteran league minimum to do so. Benson rushed for over a 1,000 yards last year for the third consecutive year and scored six touchdowns despite missing a game to suspension.

Ryan Grant could be the guy the Raiders covet most, maybe due to his Green Bay roots. Grant, who rushed for 559 yards last year, has met with the Patriots, but left without a contract. Either back could provide some depth behind Darren Mc Fadden who has yet to make it through a full sixteen game season. Though, the hope is that 2012 will be the year we will finally see how far this team can go with a healthy Mc Fadden, Grant or Benson could provide a nice insurance policy.
