Michael Huff is very excited about his new role in Coach Allen's new defense. In which he will apparently be used a little like Green Bay uses Charles Woodson. Huff did not hold back when being asked about the difference between Al Davis's scheme and Coach Allen's.
"Nothing personal, but obviously, before with Al, rest in peace, he had his hands in all the defense. He had all his little things he liked to do. Now with D.A. out there, we've got all kinds of blitzes, we've got 3-4, 4-3 fronts, just alot of veriety and different things going on. So I'm going to love it ."
Huff continued to gush about how excited he was to play in a "real defense". He went on to say,
"We don't want (the offense) knowing pre-snap what we're in. The main thing is they have to learn as the quarterback drops back, still guessing what we're in, kind of learn on the fly. Then hopefully our front four will get after them."
Huff seems to be ecstatic over his new role under Coach Allen, where he will apparently be allowed to blitz more, and wear several hats while D.A. mixes up the coverages. If it works half as well as it worked for Woodson in Green Bay, we could see Huff emerge as the player we have all hoped he would become when he was drafted top 10.
