Let's have a little fun. Yesterday I followed Paul Gutierrez, Steve Corkran, Vic Tafur, Jerry McDonald and Levi Damien on Twitter through the first practice of camp and then looked for their reports online once practice had finished. I think it's time to grade them on performance to see who will make the cut this year:
Levi Damien: A- - Solid tweets during practice giving good information. Was often the first tweet across my page showing good mobile keyboard agility. Plenty of articles to read on an interesting range of subjects. Only concern was time taken to publish those articles on the website, lagged a long way behind most of his compatriots.
Paul Gutierrez: B - Decent number of tweets during practice, though often a follower rather than a reporter on a play. Good articles posted to the website throughout the afternoon, starting soon after practice. Solid day's work.
Jerry McDonald: C+ - Hardly any tweeting during practice, may point to a lack of confidence with technology. Had an article posted to website soon after practice though it lacked substance. Made up for it later in the day.
Steve Corkran: C- - The tweet meister when based on pure numbers. He did lack a little in timing with his tweets often piggy-backing off other reporters. In contrast to his stable mate Corkran seems enamoured of the new media continuing to tweet well into the afternoon at the expense of producing articles for the website.
Vic Tafur: D - I think Vic must have had an early tee time or evening plans. One article posted quickly to the website and a few training camp tweets puts him firmly on the roster bubble.
