Finally, training camp is underway. The excitement mounts with every good camp showing by our young receivers, every shred of praise directed to Carson Palmer, and every soundbite by a veteran player applauding the new multiples defensive package. No doubt about it, this is going to be a fantastic year for Raiders football and I love our chances in the AFC West.
Thankfully as a fan, we have guys like Levi from Silver and Black Pride and Oakland Trib's Jerry Mac and Monte Poole keeping us posted on the latest developments from Napa. I'm personally so damn excited that I wish is it was just September already and we could face the Chargers tomorrow. In an attempt to try and channel that excitement and inspire some conversation and debate here on Silver and Black Pride, I propose a weekly game of Over/Under.
Each week, I'll choose three Raiders players and set an Over/Under line for a couple of his vital position statistics and I want you to predict whether they will beat that line or fall short. Weigh in on some or all of them in the comments section and let the debate begin. If at all possible, please provide an explanation for your opinion...and yes, "just a gut feeling" works.
Will Carson Palmer throw for Over or Under:
- 4,500 passing yards
- 27 touchdowns
- 16 interceptions
Will Darrius Heyward-Bey receive for Over or Under:
- 1,000 receiving yards
- 7 touchdowns
Will David Ausberry receive for Over or Under:
- 500 receiving yards
- 3 touchdowns
Note: If you play Fantasy Football, this is an excellent opportunity to start evaluating where you might need to take your favorite Raiders in your draft.
