I'm a proud member of Raider Nation and to see the Broncos in Super Bowl or Bust mode makes me happy for our up and coming Raider team. If you watch ESPN you would swear Denver already won the Super Bowl and Peyton is ready to join Brett Favre's in some Wrangler's commercial's. Then again if ESPN was right The Dream Team Eagles would of had a ring last year. I mean C'mon do you really believe Ron Jaworski isn't still butt hurt about losing to the Raiders in the Super Bowl with his "unbiased" ranking of Carson Palmer. Don't get me wrong I'm a Peyton Manning fan, You can't argue the mans past achievements.
Who would of thought the '10 Broncos would open a season 6-0 with the help of the ever so amazing Kyle Orton. To then go win a playoff game with Timmy Timmy Rah Rah in 2011. Then go off send Timmy up river to New York and pay the kings ransom for a broken Peyton Manning. I guess it's just another day in the AFC West.
The problem is his last signature "Manning" season was in 2009, Then sat out for two years with neck surgery to be lured to the Broncos with championship hopes. In my opinion Matt Flynn gave them a better chance of a SB win. ESPN tends to believe the Broncos will continue their rushing success from last season as well as having Peyton's lethal passing attack, The latter of the two seems the most probable. Last season with a offense tailored for Tebow everyone and their mom knew someone was gonna run the ball damn near every down, Tebow did have a game with 8 yards passing. With Tebow a Jet that leaves most likely Willis Mcgahee running the rock in Mile High who recorded 1,199 yrds and 4 tds last season. Mainly due to the fact every time Tebow gave him the ball defenders still pursued Tebow. It's hard to think Willis can best that kinda yardage with Manning getting the lions share of the snaps.
The biggest question mark I see for Denver is their O-Line, Which for some unknown reason the Broncos feel didn't require a significant upgrade. One stat that jumps out at me is the elusive Tim Tebow was sacked 33 times in regular season and 5 more times in the playoffs. I couldn't believe Peyton is comforted by those numbers and with the likes of Tamba Hali, Richard Seymour and newly acquired Melvin Ingram, The chances of watching Manning pull chunks of turf out of his helmet are increasing. If Peyton does stay up right I do see him making Thomas and Decker look real good no questions there
Does anyone remember that one guy who made Denvers defense last year the real reason Tebow's offense had so much success. Well that man Dennis Allen is now HC of the Oakland Raiders which by ESPN's standards means he sucks and is overrated and the next fired coach of the Oakland Raiders. Or he might take a very talented but under achieving defense and make them a respectable group like he did in Denver. Who knows.
What baffles me is how hard everyone outside Raider Nation is sleeping on Oakland, Hell that even goes for KC. The media is to busy covering Manning with dumb horse face on as he watches his college buddy Todd Helton and his Rockies get crushed or pretending this is the year Norv and Rivers quit squandering talent. With just a small dash of Tebow in the rain. Priceless ESPN. I think the division come down to KC or Oakland. If anyone can out do Manning's pass game is a team with an great run game and a good pass game. What people tend to overlook is nobody has seen an NFL game with Palmer, Dmac, and Moore on the field at the same time. That combo I believe is a bigger threat than anything Denver can bring to the table which is a more complete offense. You can throw for 400 plus yards a game and still loose every Sunday. KC has pretty much the same thing going for them with Cassel, Charles and Bowe. I think we are deeper in WR than KC and we have an ace in the hole with Marcel Reece. The Raiders also have an extremely underrated O-line with a LT that didn't feel he need to add to Jared Allen's sack count. The biggest issue is staying healthy thats it, If our offense stay healthy and Dennis Allen and Jason Traver can get the defense patched up we win the West.
And for the love of God ESPN give Reggie Mckenzie a little credit for the outstanding job he has done when handed a broken out of touch but talented franchise. Like you guys could of done better.
