Do Not Freak the Hell Out
This is merely a mental exercise, designed to stimulate minds and objectively rank where Darren McFadden
The biggest fear of the Nation, at least from my perspective, is whether or not DMC will stay upright for a full 16 games. While not an impossibility, it has never happened. So should a trade possibility arise involving DMC, this list might be an easier reference point than determining who's good for this season.
The rules are simple. Since we would be replacing a fine running back, we would obviously want one in return. No BS trades for a WR, for example. So sorry, no Mike Wallace
trade. Perhaps later.
The new running back must be "of a certain age", so to speak. No Stephen Jackson here. It must fit a window of 3-4 years, to ensure prime Carson Palmer
Speed is necessary. This is still the Oakland Raiders
, after all. I don't recall a slow running back off the top of my head, so for argument's sake, no Jerome Bettis
A good set of hands. Since we have deep threats coming out of our asse(t)s, underneath throws involving the running back will be key to our success. Again, at a loss for shitty pass catchers, so think Browns
-era Braylon Edwards
as an affirmative Hell no.
And you can put down more than one. Like Matt Forte
and Shady McCoy? Put them both down.
Oh, and one last rule. No running back who has never played a full season. Sorry, DMC lovers. You must put DMC on the bench.
Disclaimer:THIS IS PURELY AN EXERCISE. I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR A TRADE OF DARREN MCFADDEN. ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS AN IGNORANT FUCKTARD UNWORTHY OF WEARING THE SILVER AND BLACK AND PROBABLY SHOPS AT A WALMART OUTSIDE KANSAS CITY. Apologies for shouting. Some people don't get it.
