THE POWER OF AL

Stay connected for news and updates

I seen a similar post written up nicely by Brent asking if we loss too many good players. The question I ask is how many good players or defenses did we let go to waste running ALs strict man to man coverage? With preseason wrapped up and our starting defense look significantly better than years past I must say the players may have never been the issue. I know this is not something that nobody has ever questioned but I bring this up because this is the least talented defense (on paper) we have had in years but we have seen improvement SO FAR. With guys like nnamdi who actually was better off in man to man but really guys like he,deangelo hall, captain Kirk,t.howard, warren sapp, even as of late routt Wimbley huff branch Seymour so on and so forth. All guys who have or continue to contribute and be above average players that put together or as a part of our defense could not get the job done. We have had some good years think rob Ryan's def but overall our no blitz same look was what I believe and many others believe was holding us back. I'm gonna miss those days of playing the Raider way or Al's way but I really feel or hope that this year we will see a huge improvement in our defense. So what do you guys think?was it scheme? Players? Or both? Can we really have a better def with less talented players? Just a thought!
