The 1st Raider season w/o Al Davis. Completely weird concept, in fact an NFL season sans Al Davis doesn't feel right. But it is what its is, and for better or worse, the 2012 season is here, and Al Davis will no longer be here.
I know the starters did not play in the Seattle game, but an ugly way to go into the seson. I didn't see much in this pre-season that has me believing this team is better than last. I only hope McKenzie and Allen are playing possum.
With that said, I was not really expecting much this year, not after what Hue had done to the franchise. Like I have mentioned here before, this franchise is a good couple years away from being a SB contender. They may get a one and done playoff spot, but no way do they contend for Lombardy hardware, not this year.
Looking at the schedule for this year ; my gut says we finish no worse than 6-10, and no better than 8-8. And that McFadden will make it to week 10 before being knocked out for the seaon.
The start of the season is no picnic, and a 1-3 start is probable. I don't see us winning in Denver if Manning is 75% himself. I believe Norv and SD know this is it, they will be playing with a renewed urgency this year.
The Raiders will most likely split the next four games and go 2-2.
The next four games are tough, and another 1-3 stretch is probable again, with losses to Ravens, Saints and Begals on the road.
The final four games will be bit easier and the Raiders will probably split again and go 2-2.
Now they team maay get some lucky bounces of the foorball and when a couple games they shouldn't. That could get them to 8-8, but I can't see them better than that.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but win or lose, even in this new Al Davis"less" era, I will root for and curse at this team each week..
Lets Go Raiders......time to kick start the Raider Nation for 2012 !!!!!!!
