The Raiders have officially downgraded Darrius Heyward-Bey and Richard Gordon to OUT for Sunday's game in Denver. Heyward-Bey was listed as doubtful for the game on Friday's injury report and Gordon was listed as questionable.
Gordon injured his hamstring in Friday's practice and initially the team was unsure of the severity of it. Gordon scored his first touchdown of his career last week on a one yard pass from Carson Palmer. He has been the number two tight end on the depth chart behind starter, Brandon Myers.
In Gordon's absence, David Ausberry should see a larger role in the offense. He has shown flashes of fine play as the team's third option at tight end and in two tight end sets, we will get a chance to see more of him.
DHB suffered a concussion and neck injury against the Steelers last week. He cleared tests and will make a rull recovery and was even at practice, watching on Friday. He was not expected to play and his downgrade to OUT comes as little surprise. He likely didn't pass his concussion test which is what prompted the official downgrade.
