Here to Answer Chargers Questions

Hey kids. My name is John and I'll be back around to answer your Chargers questions in the comments several times per day.

Usually, when I write these things for other teams, I like to tell them stories of how I might relate to their team (my uncle is a Packers fan, for instance). In this case, I'd like to talk about Oakland.

One of my closest and oldest friends is from Oakland. He has repeatedly told me to never go in Oakland alone and/or when it's dark. I disregarded this bit of advice about a year ago when driving from San Diego up to parts north of San Francisco, because it was 2am and my bladder was about to explode.

I pulled off an exit and looked for a place that was still open and would let me use their bathroom. No dice. If I had gone a block or two, I probably would've found one, but time was of the essence. So, I pulled my car over to the side of the road and found an alcove in between two buildings.

As I began the process of relaxation, I suddenly noticed that there was a large man standing next to me. He was not a cop. He looked much more dangerous than a cop. I glanced over at him and we made eye contact. "You good?", he asked. "I'm good," I responded. He said "Goooooooood" while patting my shoulder and walking away. But was I? Was I really good? And, if I was before he asked, was I still good after he left? I still don't know.
