Last week, Raiders second year receiver, Juron Criner, saw the field for the first time this season. Now, he is back to the sideline. Criner had been inactive all season, stuck behind rookie Brice Butler on the depth chart. But after Butler had a rough day against the Steelers two weeks ago and Andre Holmes tweaked his hamstring in practice, Criner was finally activated.
He had 3 catches on 8 targets for 32 yards against the Eagles before leaving late with an injured shoulder. In practive Wednesday his arm was in a sling according to media present which usually suggests he would be out more than just a few days.
In addition to Criner being injured, Andre Holmes returned to practice as well. Last week it was Holmes who was in line to be activated ahead of Butler until his injury put a stop to that. Now Holmes is expected to see some action against the Giants this Sunday in New York. Holmes had been active for two games this season but hasn't recorded a catch.
Rod Streater also suffered a rib injury in the game and he was practicing as well. So, just like the first seven games of the season, it is Juron Criner on the outside looking in.
