Raiders place Tyvon Branch on injured reserve, sign DT Ricky Lumpkin

Ezra Shaw

The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that they have signed DT Ricky Lumpkin to the active roster from the team's practice squad. The roster spot came available when they sent Tyvon Branch to injured reserve, ending his season with three games remaining.

Branch had been out since week 2 of the season with an ankle injury. He had returned to practice two weeks ago but had yet to play. He was downgraded this week to doubtful and Dennis Allen said there was a chance with just two games remaining after this week that Branch could be placed on injured reserve.

Lumpkin had been on the Raiders' practice squad since November 20. The 6-4, 306 pound defensive tackle spent last two seasons on the Cardinals' practice squad and 2013 training camp with the Arizona Cardinals but was waived at the beginning of the season. He appeared in one game with Arizona (12/16 vs. Detroit), recording one tackle.
