I'll admit I'm one of those folks who try to find the positive in everything, even bad Raiders seasons. So I would like to point out some improvements that the Raiders have made from last season to the next.
Rushing: Last year our leading rusher was Darren McFadden with 707 yards. This season Jennings is on pace to go pass that number. He currently sits at 679. Also the Raiders total rushing TDs for 2012 4. This year the Raiders scored 15 TDs on the ground. The Raiders also increased their team per yard average, number of rushes of 20+ yards, yards per game and rushign first downs.
Receiving: Last year our leading receiver for the entire season was Brandon Myers, who finished the season with 806 yards. This year Rod Streater has 846 yards and is on pace to get close to 1000 yards this season. Even though we went down in total passing yards, the yards per catch average is up Defense: The team has more sacks this year than they did last year. While interceptions have gone down, fumble recoveries have gone up.
Special Teams: Both kick off and punt return yardage went up. And yes while filed goals have gone down, the punting game immproved this year
So really the only thing hasn't improved was QB play, but I believe that will improve next year.
