Heading into combine weekend the Oakland Raiders
were hoping to get some clairity when it comes to the health of some top prospects. Unfortunately it appears they will leave Indy with more questions than answers.
Heading into the weekend the Raiders hopes to have some answers as to the condition of Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones' Stenosis were stifled when in a puzzling move Jones chose to wait untill his pro day to workout for scouts. Raising more than a few eyebrows among the media, and NFL executives.
The future of Oaklands draft board became further clouded when fan favorite Star Lotulelei DT from Utah was not allowed to workout due to a heart condition. Though more testing needs to be done ESPN is reporting that worst case scenario the condition may result in many teams reconsidering making a long term commitment to the young DT, if Lotulelei chooses to risk an NFL career at all, depending on the final results of further testing.
Oakland also learned Raider's free agent DT Desmond Bryant
was in a Miami jail as of 9:24 Sunday morning due to criminal mischief. Bryant was being held pending $1000 bail. Considering the news surrounding Star' health, Bryant's arrest, and Kelly's apparent release Oakland finds itself in desperate need of a defensive tackle. Rumor has it they may have found their guy.
As the dust settles it appears Florida DT Sharrif Floyd may be emerging as the front runner to be selected #3 overall by the Oakland Raiders. Entering the weekend the DT Floyd was rumored to be Oakland's guy , but as the combine winds down the opinions, and mock drafts are starting to point to Oakland taking Floyd with the #3 pick in this years NFL draft.
