The Oakland Raiders currently hold the third overall pick in the draft. The Raiders have many needs to fill including play makers in the secondary and in the front seven. The defense this year was atrocious and didn't get good until the last 3/4 weeks of the regular season after getting a spark from the shout out against the Chiefs in Oakland. Many want the Raiders to take Star Lotulelei from Utah , many want the Raiders to take Sharrif Floyd out of Florida. big disruptive player and is freakishly fast for his size, scary. Bjoern werner, Damentre Moore, Bingo, Dion Jordan; a lot of options out there for the Raiders to consider. Dion Jordan is climbing up boards fast; Dion is a big talent. Changes direction good, excellent hip movement, and is excellent at rushing the qb and has a great first step; deadly off the edge.
Not a lot of mock drafts have him going third overall but he is also a consideration in a roster where the Raiders had no edge rusher coming off fast and creating pressure/havoc on the quarterback. How about the Raiders trading out the third overall pick? Or how about the Raiders taking Geno Smith third overall? Raiders trading out the third pick could be ideal in getting a second round pick which they don't have. (VIA Palmer trade) If Raiders trade out will they loose the most talented pass rusher in the draft? Quite possibly, chance of happening. Still good players out there like Anzah from BYU as an example. Having a second Round would be ideal for Oakland. These Geno Smith rumors, possibility? Raiders are still in need of a franchise qb.
Carson is getting old and many believe Pryor isn't the answer, so why not? I think its all smokescreen. Smokescreen to make a team like the cardinals or bills who are qb needy to jump and try to trade down, possibly to that third overall spot. What are your opinions on who the Raiders should take and what they should do with the 3rd overall pickin the 2013 NFL Draft?!
