We should trade down if possible
Rd. 1; CB Desmond Trufant or OG Chance Warmack
Rd.3; CB Leon McFadden
Rd.4; OT Kyle Long
Rd. 5; (compensatory pick)NT Brandon Williams
Rd.6; OLB Jamie Collins
Rd. 7; De tevardo Williams
Rd.7(additional pick for Louis Murphy trade) De Corey lemonier
reasoning behind each pick; how many corners do you think we have? Philip Adams showed potential, Brandian Ross whom we acquired from Green Bay showed some toughness but not sure about him yet, Chimdi Chekwa, I think he's got upside and good cover skills, Joselio Hanson, Cory Nelms & our newly converted CB Taiwan Jones.
The following CBs I like to see play more, Chekwa, Ross & Jones, I am really curious to see how effective Jones is going to play, he definitely has the speed, quickness & agility to do so, he has corner experience having been recruited as a corner in college. Nonetheless, we don't know if he's going to meet the standard.
This is why we need to get a top caliber CB, and before anybody criticizes me for not having milliner or Rhodes before Trufant, I read that milliner's footwork is weak, back pedal etc, due to the college system he played in (Alabama) he wasn't required to. Anyway, I believe after having watched tape, Trufant is an impact player who will pay immediate dividends hitting the ground running. At first I wasn't even thinking about corner in the first round and if so not Trufant, but he has been raising his stock and caught my attention after watching senior bowl tape and combine performance, and it doesn't hurt he has NFL blood lines, two brothers currently in the NFL. Enough said.
Leon McFadden I think is underrated, another San Diego Aztec as Burris whom really shined, steal in the draft, well I truly believe will be this years steal of the draft, (we need young corners). I watched tape on him, his game is sound.
I really like Kyle long as our RT, replacing Barnes, anybody else agree? Son of Howie Long. Per his dad and brother chris long, Kyle is the most athletic of them.
i don't think Brandon Williams will fall to us in the fifth round, but you never know, if so, he is from a smaller school, therefore he plays with a chip on his shoulder, he is huge, something like 6ft 3 , 335 pounds, has a good motor and plays pissed off. I didn't spend a lot of time on the rest of the picks, but just knowing we need depth on our LB, Jamie Collins won't fall this far, but his agility is off the chain, he moves like a corner but with LB size. We lost shaughnessy & Tollefsen, so we need pass rushers/run edge support, so that's why I focused there.
Lastly, I believe if we don't grab a first round corner like Trufant then we should draft warmack or Floyd, battles are won in the trenches, so I wouldn't be disapointed if we went that way. I think we should trade back to to the middle of the first round, that would be the best ideal scenario, we could then still pick up Trufant possibly, and get a second round and pick up a higher rated DE like Okafor from Texas. What do you guys think?
