For a lot of fans, their love of the team is tied to their relationship with their parents. These passions are often passed down through generations. And Father's Day is when we should all celebrate the bonds made over either attending a game at the coliseum or watching it on TV at home.
I personally have no such memories as my parents separated when I was very young and my father wasn't around. I recall a wonderful story told by my former sportswriting partner and friend, Patrick Patterson, about his memories with his father and the Raiders. It is a very heartwarming story that is worth a read if you feel so inclined. The saddest part for me was it was at Patrick's memorial that I had to chance to meet his father. He told me at that time he had read his son's tribute to him and will always cherish it.
So, put your stories in the comment box and tell us all of your favorite Raiders memories with your dad. Yes, that means father figures of any kind. Maybe you were like me and had a stepdad, or you were adopted, or another male relative raised you. Whatever it is, today's the day to tell your story.
