I will start out this article by stating which camp I am in. I have been rooting for Pryor since we drafted him and hope he will earn the starting role. That being said I did believe Flynn should start this season and give Pryor another year to mature and learn from someone who learned from Rodgers. This preseason has been challenging that stance quite a bit. Watching the first Pre-Season game I thought Flynn played well but was to put it gently underwhelming and did not inspire confidence.
Pryor had a spark and despite an interception moved the ball quite well. What I loved was in an interview he said he thought about running it but he wanted to improve his passing. I think Pryor's accuracy has improved quite a bit and should only get better. His biggest flaw is his decision making which seems to be improving as well, and I believe will only continue to improve as he plays more and more.
Both sides of the debate have some of the dumbest, blind supporters of either Pryor or Flynn but what is the most sickening is the Flynn supporters who have come out and said all the Chicago game has shown is that both QB's are weak, Yes, Flynn had an awful night but he has one last preseason game to turn that around and Pryor played amazing and looked like the real deal. Get your heads out of your @ss and support your team no matter who is at the helm.
Lastly, I will not venture to say who I think should start the season opener until I have seen the final preseason game. However I think the coaches should give Pryor the start just to see how he does against a first string defense. Outside of his last performance, I truly think Pryor earned it in my eyes with his post game interview ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We7SM9xUM1g&feature=c4-overview&list=UUdi83oPe0h_-1oy2dUkiXNA) Even the toughest of Pryor critics can't argue with him, when asked whether he deserves to start, and he replies by saying he's is not one to make that decision, it's about the team hitting it's maximum potential and he and Matt are going to keep leaning and helping each other. I know it's not verbatim (trying to remember it from last night) but it was something along those lines.
Whoever starts I will support, and hoping to see Pryor start to see what he's got against a 1st team Defense.
Go Raiders baby!
