The fact is, Terrelle Pryor should be our QB this season. All summer I have been stating I didn't have a dog in this fight (QB Battle), and I didn't. I wanted all of our QBs to shine and step up. I had a lot of hope for Tyler Wilson to be truthful. I actually thought he would be the QB of the future. It didn't pan out. Nor did Matt Flynn, who didn't step up to the plate and claim the job. One man did. That was Terrelle Pryor, TP2. He is mine guy if Dennis Allen and Reggie McKenzie decide to start him, as they should. He deserves the job! And yes, we will have some scary and frustrating moments with him this season, but I hope they are overshadowed by more wow moments. He has worked his butt off to get in this position and I hope he takes advantage of the opportunity. I know at one point much was written about him just really learning to throw this past summer. Well, guess what, another QB by the name of Drew Brees didn't learn to throw properly as well until he was in the NFL. Coincidently, that next year was when Drew took off for the Chargers and made a name for himself. TP2 making the commitment to learn to throw properly should tell us all in Raider Nation that the kid has a work ethic and determination to succeed in the NFL. I applaud for that effort. I say enough of saying, "I'm not a Pryor fan," or "Pryor is not my guys, but I hope he is the QB because he deserves the job." And if he does play against the Seahawks and have a bad outing, I will still support him. I honestly feel he has the better upside, especially with the porous offensive line we have. The loss of Veldheer was huge. Maybe Flynn would have survived with the Hulk in the lineup. But now we need someone with escapability and mobility. TP2 is that man. I hope he can salvage a season that is already looking dismal and we haven't played one game yet. Sportscasters always talk about Brady & Peyton Manning automatically winning 7 or 8 games by their pure presence in the lineup. I'm not expecting that of Pryor. But I hope his presence as the starting QB can at least add another 3-4 wins, and I hope that spark he seems to generate for the whole team continue to ripple through the team and get these guys motivated. And yes, sometimes you just need that one guy to motivate a team. Ask the Colts about Andrew Luck or the Redskins about RG III or old Raider faithfuls about Ken Stabler, Jim Pluckett or Marcus Allen.
