Matt McGloin has been one of the more interesting stories for the Raiders this off-season. The undrafted free agent quarterback tried out for the Panthers and was not signed, then tried out for the Raiders and they liked him enough to cut priority undrafted free agent Kyle Padron. Now, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, McGloin has made the Raiders' roster.
McGloin moved ahead of fourth round pick, Tyler Wilson, in training camp and has never looked back. Wilson barely played this preseason and continued to struggle in practice. Until we receive official word, it would appear Wilson will be cut in favor of McGloin as it is uncommon for a team to keep four quarterbacks on the roster.
It may be odd for a team to cut a fourth round quarterback in favor of an undrafted free agent but McGloin earned it.
