Anyone who watched Tennessee last season knows how solid Velasco was in 2012. He was one of the better Centers in football, excelling in run blocking, a facet that I consider critical for this position to have an effective running game. This was especially impressive given the lackluster performance of the other interior Linemen. Velasco was also a solid pass blocker. His statistical output attests to this, as he allowed 0 sacks, 3 QB hits and 9 pressures in 643 drop backs. The fact that he fared very well during the 3 starts at OG are also a bonus in terms of flexibility.
