Raiders sign OT Tony Pashos, cut Alex Barron

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders announced today they have signed offensive tackle Tony Pashos who was released by the Washington Redskins.

The 33-year old offensive tackle has played eight seasons in the NFL for four different teams -- Ravens, Jaguars, 49ers, and Browns. The 6-6, 337 pound veteran was a fulltime starter in four of those seasons -- one in Batimore, two in Jacksonville, and one season in Cleveland -- all at right tackle. He has appears in 92 games with 70 starts.

He was out of football last season with a knee injury and signed with the Redskins as a free agent last last March. He spent camp with the redskins and was cut on August 31 with the final round of roster cuts.

To make room on the roster, the Raiders released Alex Barron. The move means the end of the road for Alex Barron as the backup swing tackle for the Raiders. Barron was trying to make a comeback after being out of football the past two seasons. Barron had started two games at left tackle this preseason for the Raiders and was replaced by rookie Menelik Watson for the final preseason game.
