2014 Draft

1st Round: Blake Bortles QB, University Central Florida

6'4" 230 lbs.

Bortles has the ability to usher in a new era where he is the face of the franchise and a cornerstone for the Raiders organization. Larger built quarterback who is tough to take down and is capable of running the read option. Has great mobility in and out of the pocket and is aware of his surroundings. In addition has the arm and accuracy to put up big number through the air.

2nd Round: Trent Murphy DE, Stanford University

6'6" 260 lbs.

Murphy is the definition of a mauler. Big physical pass rusher who has the ability to inflict pain on opposing quarterbacks. Could step in immediately and have an impact on a patchwork defense.

3rd Round: Ahmad Dixon SS, Baylor University

6'0" 205 lbs.

Dixon would be a steal at this point in the draft. He has prototypical size but, brings a ton of athleticism to the table. Has the ability to come up and bring the wood, yet still able to cover a speedy receiver over the top. Could learn under the tutelage of Hall of famer Charles Woodson and develop into a great safety in this league.

4th Round: Brandon Coleman WR, Rutgers University

6'6" 220 lbs.

Coleman would be one of those guys that would have to drop considerably to this spot. Not impossible though due to the large amount of side-outs that have declared for this draft. Large receiver that could develop into a number one with a little schooling. If he has Bortles at the helm of the offense, the sky is the limit.

6th Round: Ryan Groy OG, University of Wisconsin-Madison

6'5" 320 lbs.

Groy would fill the huge hole that we have at the guard position. Comes from a very good offensive line school, Wisconsin has the ability to pump out NFL ready linemen every year. Groy is extremely undervalued and could be one of the biggest steals in this draft.

7th Round: Glenn Carson ILB, Pennsylvania State University

6'3" 235 lbs.

Carson is not an eye-popping pick but, comes from a school that is notorious for producing great linebackers. Im not saying he is the next great linebacker but, certainly could be a fully capable back up for a couple years before getting his shot.

7th Round: George Atkinson III RB, Notre Dame

6'2" 220 lbs.

Atkinson does not posses overwhelming speed or power. Would be a good back-up to Rashad and eventually could develop into something more.

Understand this is a very hopeful scenario and I appreciate feedback!
